Best Buy to Exhibit at 2010 CES
Best Buy is listed as an exhibitor in booth CP1. The big-box retailer’s exhibit plans aren’t known at this time.
Best Buy and Walmart have been jockeying for position lately, with each striving to establish itself as a premiere electronics retailer. A presence at CES, perhaps, will differentiate Best Buy.
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), which runs CES, recently named Best Buy CEO Brian Dunn to its executive board.
In other CES firsts, EHX@CES will play host to high-performance audio, video and control manufacturers, creating a destination for custom installation attendees.

I think they have global domination plans. Today they are on the board, tomorrow they own the board?
Perhaps, since they’ve become one of the two giant CE retailers left, along with Wal-Mart, they’re giving suppliers an opportunity to grovel at their CES booth? “Why yes, we might consider selling your line if we get an extra 90 points and you’ll guarantee that our Insight model kicks its butt…”
I heard through the grapevine that they just got a great deal on the last 100,000 Suzanne Sommers “Thigh Master” units… The buyer saw the words, “high definition” on the box and just had to have them for their fitness line-up.
Give me a break & who cares… History has a way of repeating itself or did we all forget about the days of The Wiz, Circuit City, Harvey’s, Crazy Eddie, etc., when they once ruled the roost?

Hmmm…. why do you think they’re exhibiting there? Perhaps to “OEM” the services of Geek Squad to other retailers?
Do they still have a distribution-type offering for smaller CE dealers? If so, that’s probably what they’re showcasing.
