Atlona at ISE 2012: 4X4 HDBaseT, More Wireless Coming
In addition to LinkCast wireless HD,"We'll come out with commercial-grade wireless products really meant for integrators," Atlona says. Plus, company debuts 4x4 HDBaseT switcher.
LinkCast will ship in Q3 in Europe, after CE certification is achieved.
Fresh off its CEA Innovations Award win at CES 2012, Atlona touted its LinkCast wireless HD distribution system during Integrated Systems Europe (ISE 2012) in Amsterdam.
Based on technology from Amimon (WHDi), the LinkCast system enables the distribution of multiple HDMI sources to multiple displays wirelessly up to 40 feet.
The product is aimed primarily at PC-type sources, as a USB port is required for power. The unit supports uncompressed video resolutions up to 1080p HD and 1280x1024, including 3D video, with a latency of less than one millisecond, according to the company.

Alex Babayan: "We’ll come out with commercial-grade wireless products really meant for integrators.”In Europe, the product is expected to ship in Q3 after it receives CE approval for the region. Account manager Alex Babayan tells CE Pro, “We’re going to have so much more wireless. We’ll come out with commercial-grade wireless products really meant for integrators.”
In addition, Atlona touted a scaled down version of its HDBaseT Cat 5 switches. The new AT-PRO3HD44M is a 4x4 HDMI matrix for distributing audio, 1080p video and control signals over 60 meters of cable, with power provided by built-in PoE.
“We’re best known for our 8x8 and 16x16 switches,” Babayan says, “but we wanted something more for more residential.”
The product is expected to retail for about $2,300 (excluding receiver modules).
