ADA’s Thermionic Suite iPod docking system is a two-piece system that utilizes hybrid technologies to provide iPod owners with a step-up performance option that can be used as a stand-alone system or as part of a multiroom audio system.

High-performance audio manufacturers were showing off their new products in force at CEDIA Expo.

McIntosh introduced its upcoming 60th Anniversary Mac Executive System, which may be the smallest Mac system ever.

This new compact system features the classic industrial design the company is famous for with source amenities like a CD player and a AM/FM radio in a package that fits nicely in an apartment, condo and home office.

Once the company formally launches its Executive System, budget-challenged enthusiasts and lifestyle consumers that wouldn't necessary have considered the purchase could join the legions of Mac followers.

ADA Intros Thermionic Suite iPod System

Audio Design Associates introduced its new Thermionic Suite iPod system, a two-piece amplification and docking station combination.

The system brings together tubes and solid-state technologies in a hybrid design that can be set up as a standalone system or as part of a complete multiroom system.

The Thermionic Suite iPod system's amp section is rated to at 150 watts and it features an old school three-band EQ with bass, midrange and treble knob adjustments.

JBL, Revel Lead Harman's Presence

Harman International, JBL and Revel had many interesting products in their respective booths, but standing out was JBL's WEM-1 wireless amplification system.

This new solution, which will cost $359, is a two-piece transmitter/receiver that wirelessly broadcasts audio signals. The receiver module incorporates a 50-watt stereo amp to allow users to drive a set of speakers and the system also includes a mini-pin input to allow the connection of sources such as an iPod.

Revel's new lifestyle-oriented Concerta M8, Concerta C10, Concerta LCR 8, Concerta M10 and Concerta B120 powered subwoofers will provide dealers with the ability to affordably meet the demands of best-in-class clientele that want performance and style from their electronics.

The speaker line provides freestanding and on-wall install options for music and home theater systems. With the addition of the Concerta B120 sub and its wireless transmission capabilities, installers can eliminate unsightly cables that turn off some potential buyers.
