Adding to its selection of portable audio products, the popular manufacturer Sonos has announced its Roam SL loudspeaker.
Sonos says that its latest product is engineered to provide users with detailed and full sound to replicate the capabilities of a larger speaker. The new Sonos Roam SL—like the original Roam speaker—connects to homeowners’ networks or to their smart devices via Bluetooth when they are away from home.
According to Sonos, the Roam SL provides up to 10 hours of continuous audio playback on a single charge, and up to 10 days of battery life with the speaker is in “sleep mode.” The company points out that for longer battery life users can enable the speaker’s Battery Saver mode that completely powers the speaker down when it is not being used.
Supporting its use as a portable loudspeaker in a range of environments Sonos emphasizes the speaker is dust and waterproof, and it was tested to comply with IP67 rating standards.
Other features built into the speaker include tactile buttons to prevent accidental button presses when using the speaker in portable situations, and the ability to place the Roam SL vertically or horizontally.
Additionally, the speaker also provides Apple AirPlay 2 connectivity, and it is available in a choice of shadow black or lunar white finishes.
