$189 EnGenius Access Point Helps Integrators Futureproof Network Installs
The newly announced EnGenius EWS357AP is a 2x2 802.11ax wireless access point that delivers enterprise features to smaller scale networks.
Providing increased coverage to small and medium-sized business (SMB) environments, as well as large residences, the new $189 EnGenius EWS357AP wireless access point brings enterprise technologies to more applications.
The Costa Mesa, Calif.-based company's latest wireless access point (WAP) is a 2x2 solution that incorporates Qualcomm's new EWS357 chipset that includes 11ax technologies to expand network coverage.
“The variety of devices competing for wireless connections in the modern workplace demands a cure for slow or congested network performance,” says Nick Kucharewski, vice president and general manager, wired/wireless infrastructure and networking, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.
“By leveraging Qualcomm Technologies’ Wi-Fi 6 technology, EnGenius is delivering a 2x2 Wi-Fi 6 solution designed to address the demand for capacity on enterprise networks, while optimizing wireless performance for more devices and users than ever before.”
EnGenius Access Point Provides Enterprise-Grade Functionality
According to EnGenius, the EWS357AP is the first 2x2 11ax access point in the SMB market that leverages 11ax technologies to deliver more efficient channel use and reduced latency between access points and client devices.
Other key features include:
- Orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) that increases channel efficiency
- Uplink and download link of MU-MIMO to ensure optimal signal and reliability
- BSS coloring to differentiate between adjacent service sets
- Target wake time for power saving capabilities with scheduled wake-up times
The low-profile access point also features enterprise options such as mass configuration of access points so integrators can easily futureproof network installations.
“Here at EnGenius, we believe that the newest Wi-Fi technology must be accessible to small and medium-sized organizations too instead of just enterprises,” notes MC Leo, general manager at EnGenius Technologies.
“The 2x2 EWS357AP access point puts the power of 11ax in reach of early adopters from the SMB space.”
In addition, EnGenius is also launching an access point for higher density environments: the EWS377AP.
EnGenius says the EWS377AP access point is an 802.11ax 4x4 wireless product integrators can use to meet a variety of client needs in a range of environments.
