After years of flirting with the U.S. market the company is set to launch its product line in America and its goal, according to its new U.S. distributor Sound Import, is to provide custom installers with a line of affordable products that combine aesthetics, sound quality and cost effectiveness in a single package.
One of the products that installers will see the company highlight at the upcoming CEDIA Expo in Atlanta this September is the Opus2-1 freestanding column loudspeaker.
The three-way floorstanding product is 89dB efficient and it provides a frequency response of 37Hz to 42kHz. Wharfedale says the 6-ohm speaker can handle up to 300 watts of power and it can be utilized in a traditional two-channel audio system or as part of a complete multichannel home theater system.
Wharfedale dresses the curved enclosure design in a choice of gloss finishes and its gold-plated binding posts and floor spikes are engineered to expedite the speaker's installation into a variety of home environments.

Today the word thin can now be used describe the accessories that make a flat-panel TV-based system stealth within a client's home.
A good example of the sleek industrial design that's occurring within the accessory market can be found in products like Ultralink/XLO's Ultra Flat HDMI cables. This new cable line uses a proprietary design to achieve a thin appearance and it features 30AWG oxygen-free copper conductors and a low-capacitance, gas-injected dielectric insulation.
Ultralink/XLO says the cable, which is available in 1-, 2- and 3-meter lengths meets the current standards for high-speed data transmission, and its available in a color choice of black or white.

The company is now finalizing its new Apple iPhone/iPod Touch application and it is set to demonstrate the control solution at the upcoming EHX Show in Orlando (March 25-27).
The app can be used to operate an HAI control system and it uses color graphics and icons to help users navigate their control options to set the parameters for features like lighting, HVAC and A/V system volume. The app is compatible with the company's Omni and Lumina control systems, and it says the interface looks similar to its Snap-Link Mobile and WL3 products.

The new 2.1 update debuted at CES 2010 improves on the system's ability to integrate with a Crestron control system, while adding Apple iPhone control capabilities, streamlined configuration options, zone-link synchronization, and the addition of the Rhapsody service and Internet radio.
Meridian has also increased the interoperability of its Sooloos media system by adding modular card options that enable installers to integrate a Sooloos system with the company's flagship 800 solutions. The new ID40 Sooloos integration card is standard with the company's new 808v3 CD player and an add-on option for its 861v6 A/V controller.

The company says the unit is compatible with WAV, MP3, Windows media, AAC and FLAC files, and its on-board bass management system enables installers to run the unit with a subwoofer/satellite speaker system.
The unit, which debuted at CES 2010, is expected to launch in March 2010 at an MSRP of $2,000.

Bell'O's new PR-11 and PR-12 are the latest introductions to the company's Pro Bell'O pre-assembled furniture line, and they are designed to allow CE Pros to instantly provide clients with a furniture product that complements their home decor.
The two furniture pieces are designed to accommodate a variety of HDTVs and other electronics components, and they incorporate cable routing channels to enable installers to hide cabling runs.
Bell'O offers the PR-12 in a brown trim with glass accents, and the PR-11 has an expresso finish.
Both pieces carry an MSRP of $999
Engineered to provide the highest possible levels of performance, the M56 is capable of delivering 1080p/24fps images via HDMI and 1080i via component video.
The unit's audio performance is driven by its ability to support 7.1 LPCM, Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio via HDMI, in addition it also includes 7.1 multichannel analog audio outputs, as well as the ability to playback CDs encoded with MP3 and WMA digital files.
NAD uses the same industrial design as the other Master Series products, and the company says it loads discs quickly, while supporting the interactive functionality of BD Live 2.0.
