Someone at Netflix appears to be having a nervous breakdown. Can you blame them? Back in July, Netflix announced plans to separate its streaming and DVD plans. Everyone probably remembers how that panned out. Despite the outcry, Netflix went through with its new pricing plan. Meridian has launched two products, the Sooloos Control 15 and Media Source 600, both of which appear to target ease of installation and relative affordability. With the Sooloos Control 15, which begins shipping today, CE pros can provide storage, playback and control. The $7,500 MSRP reflects a lower entry point than Sooloos Digital Media System Version 2.1’s $8,250. For seven years, dealers have recognized Kaleidescape as having the most reliable multiroom movie server in the business. But they’ve been twiddling their thumbs while the manufacturer developed a solution for Blu-ray storage. Integrators and their wealthy clients will finally get what they wished for … sort of. 1. Apple iPad launch may be delayed … maybe not This is an amusing report and it’s not just The Money Times. Many outlets are citing a market analyst who says it’s quite possible that Apple won’t meet its planned March release of the iPad or that the release will be limited to the U.S. at that time.
