07.23.2008 — Aperion Audio is launching the Intimus 4T, a two-way tower speaker that has dual 4-inch fiberglass woven composite drivers.

The company says the 4T, which also has a 1-inch silk dome tweeter, is designed to accompany its 4B bookshelf speakers as part of a larger system.

They can, of course, also be used as standalone speakers. The 4T speakers stand 34-inches high x 5-inches wide x 7.5-inches deep.

The 4T handles up to 150 watts with a frequency response of 55Hz to 20,000Hz (+/- 3dB) and a sensitivity rating of 86dB.

The cabinet is made of high density fiberboard (HDF) to help eliminate cabinet vibrations.

And like all Aperion speakers, the 4T is magnetically shielded so it can be placed near video monitors to ensure a "rainbow free" video experience.

The 4T also features 5-way gold-plated binding posts and a set of floor spikes and footers, which decouple the cabinet from the floor to offer tighter bass, Aperion says.

The 4T is available in gloss black and cherry finishes for $650 per pair from Aperion's Web site.
