The Belgium-based electronics manufacturer Basalte is now shipping its Fibonacci multifunctional keypad.
According to the company, its latest keypad solution is specifically designed for the North American market, and it features familiar design elements that include a rectangular decora form. Basalte says the Fibonacci multifunctional keypad fits in a single-gang U.S. wall box, and it incorporates touch-sensitive buttons to allow homeowners and users to easily control lighting, shades and scenes.
Basalte states the buttons on its new keypad are made of premium metals and come in “luxury finishes” such as brass, bronze and nickel.
The Fibonacci multifunctional keypad also employs a hidden proximity sensor that lights up the keypad’s backlit customizable buttons. Basalte emphasizes these buttons or “labels” can show text or icons, and changing the “labels” can be done easily.
In addition, the company explains the Fibonacci multifunctional keypad design’s was inspired by Fibonacci’s golden ratio, which is an timeless design concept that is well known to engineers and architects. Balsalte says the keypad measures 3.15 inches by 4.72 inches by 0.35 inches.
