Three months after Niles Audio moved from Miami to Carlsbad, Calif., president Mike “Sparky” Detmer is starting to get the hang of it. Nortek Inc. is consolidating its Linear Audio Video Control properties under one roof in Carlsbad, Calif. The AVC group was formed in April of this year, combining Niles Audio, Xantech and Elan Home Systems into a more unified entity headed by former Harman executive Mark Terry. If you take a look at Harman, you might get an inkling of where Linear is going with its new Audio/Video/Control group. The group was announced earlier this week as a combination of Elan, Niles Audio and Xantech, as well as the Elan brand’s Aton and Sunfire.
