As everyone knows, the poor financial situation among so many TV manufacturers led them to cut back on production starting last fall. The shortage is now hitting the channel, giving even more importance to buying group membership and exclusive partnerships between key manufacturers and distributors, such as the ADI distribution deal with Sony announced last fall, that guarantee product for dealers. ADI's recent announcement that it will soon be carrying Sony products does not just mean greater access for dealers to more SKUs from the well-known brand, but it represents a major focus by the distributor on the A/V market. ADI is expanding its custom electronics product offering to include solutions from Sony, giving installers access to a variety of Sony’s consumer and commercial product lines. ADI will now sell energy-saving solutions from Lutron Electronics, giving its dealers across North America access to Lutron’s lighting controls, automated window treatments, coordinating accessories and more via all of ADI's 200-plus branches.
