We wrote recently about a federal mandate that requires 5% of government prime- and subcontracts go to small businesses run by women. The “problem” with the current Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract program, apparently, is that it is too restrictive. Information technology (IT) companies express tempered optimism heading into the first quarter of 2012, though longer-term prospects look more promising, according to the IT Industry Outlook 2012 released by CompTIA, the non-profit association for the IT industry. CompTIA, the non-profit association for the information technology (IT) industry, has expanded its CompTIA Security Trustmark program to include two levels of the business accreditation, which identifies companies that follow industry-accepted best security processes.
