CEDIA and its CEO Utz Baldwin are parting ways, the organization announced today (press release below). Baldwin's appointment three years ago was a first for CEDIA, which previously had no CEO position. The organization is changing its structure and has not indicated that it would replace Baldwin. Instead, CEDIA COO Don Gilpin will assume a more active role under the direction of the Board of Directors. But the show delivered a slew of products and trends that will help CE pros meet current market demands. CES may be a gadget-lover’s dream, but CEDIA Expo is the golden ticket for the best home theater gear. There were two new(ish) trends in home theater projectors at CEDIA Expo 2011. The first was 4K, which several companies made a point to show off. A 4K resolution was previously reserved from professional projectors to be used with huge screens, but now your clients can get a projector that throw 4096 x 2160 pixels on their basement theater screen.
