Onkyo is introducing new headphones at 2013 International CES. The ES-HF300 and ES-FC300 are available in stores are both closed-back on-ear models with two wide-range 40mm titanium drivers, ported bass sub-chambers, and aluminum driver housing and single aluminum hanger.
The ES-HF300 ($179) features an audiophile-grade cable, a 6N oxygen-free copper cable encased in clear elastomer, and gold-plated MMCX connectors and mini-stereo plug.
The ES-FC300 ($149) features an elastomer cable with a flattened cross-section and is available in three finishes - black with red cable, white with white cable, and violet with violet cable. Copper and flat elastomer cables will be also available for separate sale.
In addition to the ES-HF300 and ES-FC300 models, Onkyo will also release aluminum in-ear models - the IE-HF300 and IE-FC300 - in the coming months. These headphones will be powered by a 14.3mm dynamic transducer and will have a suggested retail price of $129 and $99, respectively.
Onkyo is also developing a headphone equalizer app for smartphones and tablets, which will allow users to adjust frequency response.
