As home theater continues to surge in popularity, more consumers are stepping up to demand the highest levels of performance. The newly announced McIntosh MX180 AV Processor meets those demands through its selection of advanced features.
McIntosh says that its latest AV processor incorporates seven Ultra High-Speed HDMI ports (five inputs and two outputs) that support 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 120Hz. The HDMI inputs also support HDCP 2.3, 4:4:4 color, Rec. 2020, Dynamic Lip Sync, 3D video pass-through, ALLM, QFT, QMS and VRR.
The N.Y.-based AV manufacturer also points out the MX180 offers Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D immersive audio options, along with support for the Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HLG high dynamic range formats. Additionally, some other features the MX180 offers includes an HDMI output that includes Audio Return Channel (ARC) and Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) options.
McIntosh emphasizes the AV processor provides integrators with 16 balanced audio outputs to facilitate system configurations such as 15.1 or 9.1.6.
Further supporting integrators, the McIntosh MX180 incorporates RoomPerfect room correction equalization, as well as a two-channel Zone B output to send audio to a second zone, and a moving magnet (MM) phono input to enable integrators to add turntables to their clients’ systems.
