Control manufacturer Leviton has introduced its next-generation Leviton Decora Smart Wi-Fi 2nd Gen Scene Controller Switch.
The new device consists a of a keypad with four buttons – three user-customizable buttons to control room scenes or whole-house lighting activities, and the fourth button is built in a smart switch to control general purpose lighting, according to Leviton.
Ideal for entry ways, bedrooms and kitchens, Leviton suggests, the new Wi-Fi Scene Controller Switch is designed to help homeowners create a wireless home lighting control system without complex programming. The product introduction comes shortly after the company added new No-Neutral Dimmer, Switch and Wi-Fi Bridge offerings.
The new Leviton Decora Smart Wi-Fi Scene Controller Switch gives homeowners the ability to:
- Set up the top three buttons with custom scenes and automation activities through the My Leviton app or the Apple Home app.
- Control multiple Decora Smart Wi‐Fi devices together using commands such as “All Off”, “Movie Time”, “Party Mode”, “Game Night”, and more.
- Use voice control with Amazon Alexa, Hey Google, and Apple Siri platforms, as well as set schedules, scenes/activities, and an optional auto-shutoff timer capability.
- Use in single pole or multi-location applications when paired with the wire-free Leviton DAWSC Anywhere Switch Companion or the wired DD0SR Switch Companions – with no bridge required.
Additionally, the top three scene buttons can be configured for use with Apple HomeKit, the company notes.
Homeowners with an Apple Home Hub can control third‐party HomeKit scenes and accessories like thermostats, locks, and more with the press of a button. As owners leave the house, they can just push a button labeled “All Off” to turn off any HomeKit-compatible devices as well as Leviton Decora Smart Wi-Fi products.
