20 of Our Favorite AV and Smart Home Products Released in 2025

Despite being a little quieter than years prior, the AV and smart home industries had plenty of standout product releases and product announcements for 2025.
Published: December 23, 2025

2025 is nearly over, and per CE Pro tradition, it’s time to look at some of the top products released this year to see what excites us the most when heading into 2026. These are the products released in 2025 we’re hoping to see show up in projects and showrooms in the new year (though we’d be lying if we said these didn’t top out our list of great additions to our own homes as well).

20 Product Picks for 2025, Selected by CE Pro Staff

New for 2025, this list will attempt to cover a range of top product categories in custom integration including loudspeakers, amplifiers, switches, shades, video components and even smart home control platforms. At the end of the day, our product selections were formed through a mix personal interest as well as general industry sentiment. For that reason, a good chunk (but not all) of these will pull from the 2025 BEST Awards, as it’s hard not to find some standout products in a list of top performers.

We love seeing big updates to control platforms because, at the end of the day, these sit right at the center of the average smart home experience.

X4 gives the Control4 platform a refreshed interface while making it so users can easily customize automations, like flashing the lights when the doorbell rings, adding fans to bedtime mode or receiving sensor alerts on their watch. All of it leans into an ongoing theme of more customizations being easier to setup for integrators.

If shades can be a design statement all their own, there’s something special to be said about being able to cover a non-traditional window shape with an automated shade. Maybe scream is the better word, as such a sight definitely screams a level of custom not often glimpsed in home design.

Previously limited to static treatments, operable arches and angled shades are now fully automatable and integrated into the PowerView platform for Alustra Duette and Duette Honeycomb collections from Hunter Douglas.

DMF Artafex PhaseX

DMF Lighting Artafex DMX Lighting Control Gateway

PhaseX from DMF Lighting is an incredible piece of technology, being able to deliver tunable white lighting and ultra-precise 0.1% dimming across standard two-wire Romex. It’s a product the guys working the back end are going to appreciate the most, because at its core, the compact PhaseX Gateway enables DMX/RDM control of up to 64 fixtures, ensuring scalability and simplicity. It also has native Crestron Home compatibility.

Samsung, Sony RGB TVs

While Samsung was the first to announce its RGB TV this year, we’d be remiss not to mention that brands such as LG and Sony likely have their own models right around the corner. Giving full individualized control over red, green and blue LEDs in the backlight means this technology can potentially open a whole new viewing experience, making it a top product for 2025 and beyond, as we’re more than excited to check them out as they become available.

Quantum Media Systems Extreme LED Wall System (XDR4-8K)

Is Quantum Media Systems’ XDR4-8K Extreme Wall overkill? Probably, but for the cinephiles in the room, this may just be a top-of-the-line product they need. Being the first cinematic-grade LED video wall that’s certified DCI-compliant for Bel Air Circuit playback, the XDR4-8K supports native 8K input as well, putting it right at the bleeding edge for formats currently.

Lutron Triathalon Select Roller Shades

Automated shading is great, but the process of wiring them in a retrofit is unenviable to say the least, which is way any new product that can circumvent that is a welcome one. The Triathalon Select roller shades are designed to be installed in as little as 15 minutes, requiring no electrical wiring and operation of up to two years.

Plus, given they’re made by Lutron, there’s already a nice base level of quality you can expect from the company that’s been specializing in lighting and shading for decades.

Bluesound POWERNODE Multi-Room Music Streaming Amplifier

Bluesound POWERNOD Amplifier Top Products 2025 Gift Ideas

The POWERNODE is something special, not just for its ability to deliver on audiophile-grade sound, but for its size as well. It’s these two characteristics that have made it a top pick for multiple product lists over the course of 2025.

The unit is powered by Bluesound’s DirectDigital amplification platform to deliver 100 watts per channel into eight ohms with minimal distortion and is compatible with everything from wired headphones to passive speakers. The BluOS Multi-Room Platform gives POWERNODE access to more than 20 streaming services, as well as internet radio stations and local libraries, so there’s precious little that holds this amplifier back in terms of versatility.

Coastal Source Ovation In-Ceiling Speaker

Coastal Source Ovation In-Ceiling Outdoor Speaker

This one we got to experience while at CEDIA Expo 2025, and they’re impressive. The speaker’s elliptical design allows a driver nearly twice the size of a standard 6-inch speaker to pass through a grille that’s 15% smaller—delivering powerful, room-filling sound while maintaining a low-profile aesthetic. Of course, it being Coastal Source, these little suckers are built to withstand the worst from mother nature,

The speaker’s enclosure is immune to corrosive salt spray, UV rays, snow, and heat. Every component from the extruded aluminum grille to UV-stable plastics and weatherproof fabrics are designed for long-term use.

ASCENDO Immersive Audio THE HALO 10 PRO ACTIVE EXT CARDIOD Speaker

A winner from this year’s BEST Awards, the Halo from ASCENDO has a striking design that leans heavily into its function. That function being: creating a halo of sound around it.

The 3-way active design speaker includes a 10-inch point source coaxial driver that operates as a midrange from 200 Hz upward while the low frequencies are engineered with a circular array of six 8-inch woofers in a cardioid configuration, extending down to 55 Hz.

Kaleidescape Strato E Movie Player

Kaleidescape’s movie players makes any location a cinema–a top notch product for any movie lover from a series that has won over reviewers in the past–and that’s likely to be no different with the Strato E. As a stand-alone entry-level system, the Strato E acts as a single playback zone with internal storage for about a half-dozen 4K movies, while providing access to the Kaleidescape movie store.

Klipsch Courtyard Landscape Speakers

So maybe you wouldn’t be able to use this gift until a little after Christmas (unless you’re from one of the southern climes), but the Klipsch Courtyard looks to bring a classic to the outdoor environment. Having personally seen these in action out in Indianapolis, I’d be excited to experience them again if given the chance.

The main kit includes four horn-loaded satellite speakers, a subwoofer, mounting posts with stakes, and more – to deliver amazing outdoor sound from your AVR’s zone 2. The system also includes a low-profile subwoofer that can either be buried or installed above ground to fit the appropriate aesthetic.

Crestron Cevo Mini Remote

We get so caught up what smart home products can do sometimes that we forget about the interfaces that make it possible, and 2025’s Cevo Mini Remote from Crestron looks like a slick reminder of the top-of-the-line engineering that goes into making a device disappear in your hands.

At its core is a paddle actuation system for some tactile feel that responds to how fingers naturally rest. Its also got customizable touch zones to control lighting, shades, scenes and multi-room audio.

Deako Smart Switch Gen 2

New to the channel, the Deako Smart Switch stands out with a feature that just makes it so easy to setup. Magic Linking automatically configures multi-way switch setups with no wiring expertise, bridge devices or programming required.

Its modular design also allows hot-swapping without shutting off power. With all the craze the lighting category is getting right now, its features like this that make us want to play around with them, just to see how easy it is to set up.

Any of Leon’s TV Frames

Leon Edge Matrix

We were going to say the Edge Atlas, but thinking back, Leon released quite a few TV frames this year. Of course, the Edge Atlas is a first-of-its-kind, being an aluminum-engineered frame for video walls, but we also figure the recently released Solé should be considered as well, as both products encapsulate Leon‘s top-of-the-line design mentality when it comes to AV accessories in 2025.

One surprising note on the Edge Atlas however is its integrated Tech Band, which discreetly houses speakers, lighting or other AV components without breaking clean lines. Honestly, as someone who loves the raw metal aesthetic, I’d love one just for a regular TV.

Savant Virtual Power Plant

While it may not be the most exciting in terms of offering a killer entertainment experience, Savant’s Virtual Power Plant upgrade is just exciting on an innovation level. Thanks to a partnership with Virtual Peaker, homes can now support the grid by dispatching stored energy during peak demand.

It’s one of those innovations we think really puts the smart in smart home and brings us one step closer to that dream of an interconnected, proactive system.

PureEdge Lighting Trapeze 360

With how big the lighting category has gotten, it takes quite a bit to stand out nowadays. That being said, developing a flex lighting system that operates more like luminous rope strands is a fast track to getting put on my wish list (just call me your resident magpie).

Trapeze 360 from PureEdge Lighting is sculptural, minimal in its design, and can deliver exceptional color rendering for a clean, uninterrupted glow. You also get plenty of lighting options from static and tunable white to the favorite: warm dim.

DALI V-16 F Subwoofer

DALI SUBV16 Top Products 2025 Gift Ideas

DALI makes some stylish (and powerful) products that would top any audiophiles wish list, so it should come as no surprise that its purported “most powerful subwoofer yet” caught our attention in 2025.

The massive 16-inch aluminum diaphragm that makes up the sub sits within a flexible low-loss rubber surround featuring DALI Constant Surface Surround (CSS) technology, which the company says helps eliminate distortion when the sub is hitting those ultra-low frequencies.

Good speakers are great, but a strong subwoofer just hits different, which is why we’d love to see this thing in the field. Maybe at ISE?

MadVR Envy Core MK2 8K

Video processors are by and large one of the unsung heroes of the home theater, and in that space, MadVR has created some seriously cool products for 2025. Capable of full-bandwidth 48 Gbps HDMI 2.1 input and output, the madVR Envy Core MK2 8K features Dynamic Tone Mapping for rich and accurate display of all HDR content; Non-Linear Stretch to make content of any aspect ratio a perfect fit for a screen of any format; and AI-enabled upscaling and deinterlacing for improved clarity, to name a few.

Christie G3 Eclipse

The Christie G3 Eclipse showed up in a few demos at CEDIA Expo 2025, and we have to say, we were all blown out of the water. The G3 gave us some of the deepest, darkest black tones we’ve seen on screen, and as for color, it seemed almost more vibrant than real life.

It is a powerhouse of a projector, and one we’d love to spend more time with if given the opportunity, so, fingers crossed that that Santa Cl(av)s is listening in on this.

Future Automation PCV-F

Future Automation often gets a lot of attention for its striking motorized mounts, but its fixed mounts still carry some serious engineering prowess behind their design.

This projector mount is equipped with shock absorbers and isolators prevent sound transfer from causing a projector to vibrate, while dual-thickness Port Glass reduces light reflections and harmonic vibrations.

It’s also reportedly very easy to service, as the front panel that houses the projector can be removed without the need for any tools.
