With the amount of sales opportunties increasing in both the outdoor and light-commercial audio markets, it's only natural that consumer audio companies would develop solutions that address these trendy categories.

Announcing its entry into these categories is Harman's Revel loudspeaker brand. Revel's new XC Series of outdoor speakers are designed to provide dealers with a choice of competitively priced products that are capable of withstanding hot, cold, damp, humid and wet environments.

“The M55XC and M80XC are perfect for the music lover who's looking for an outdoor entertainment system that provides the best acoustic experience possible without sacrificing durability,” says Jim Garrett, director of marketing and product management, Harman. “In conjunction with the C363XC and C383XC loudspeakers introduced last year and the three new landscape speakers also being introduced, our Extreme Climate portfolio of loudspeakers has grown to seven models to offer a comprehensive solution of great sound products for the outdoor audio market.”

Revel suggests some of the applications in which dealers can deploy the speakers include under eaves, around decks, patios, screened-in porches, and hidden in trees or other landscaping locations.

The M80XC features the same tweeter and waveguide as the M55XC, and it adds an 8-inch aluminum cone woofer for increased power and frequency response capabilities.

Both speakers Revel's InvisiBall mounting system, stainless steel screw terminal connectors, input terminal protective weather covers, options for 70-volt/100-volt with 8-ohm bypass, and a choice of black or white cabinet finishes.
