AVA, Inc., has announced AVA OS 2.0, the next evolution of its connected home operating system powering AVA Cinema Remote, AVA Home Remote, and AVA Nano Brain. With AVA OS 2.0, AVA expands beyond its own hardware for the first time, bringing the AVA experience to iPad, Mac, Windows PCs, and Android tablets through the new AVA app. The release also opens support for third-party Android in-wall panels.
AVA OS 2.0 also introduces a new design system, enhanced pro-configuration tools for Mac and Windows, advanced automation tools, and what it says is one of the industry’s broadest driver and app ecosystems. AVA OS 2.0 is a free upgrade for both AVA installers and homeowners, underscoring the company’s commitment to accessibility and value.
“With AVA OS 2.0, we’re not just updating software — we’re expanding the entire platform,” says Raphael Oberholzer, CEO of AVA Inc. “By opening up to iPad, Mac, Windows, and third-party in-wall panels, integrators can deliver a whole-home experience using whatever form factor fits the job and location. And by making OS 2.0 a free upgrade, we ensure every installer and every homeowner benefits immediately from everything we’ve built.”
AVA Rolls Out Sonos Integration Capabilities
AVA, has also announced it has received a Works with Sonos certification for AVA OS. The integration includes control of Sonos players on the local network and a rich user interface that makes it easy to control a Sonos system.
The company points out that with high-resolution cover art, easy grouping of speakers, and fast control from AVA Cinema Remote’s patented Dynamic Keypad, AVA OS delivers natural, modern control for Sonos sound systems.
According to the company, the new integration was designed to feel like a native experience on Sonos. With a single tap, music starts playing without having to choose a speaker. The listener can quickly add and remove speakers right from the remote and easily control volume, for the whole system or each individual speaker. On an AVA Cinema Remote, the Dynamic Keypad provides tactile button controls for volume, play/pause, and track navigation. AVA Home Remote provides a streamlined, touchscreen-only option for less frequently used rooms or spaces without TVs.
“AVA is thrilled to bring Sonos into our pro-only control system, AVA OS. Installers can now give clients a premium remote that feels as if it were designed exclusively to work with Sonos. Setup is quick and the owner gets an experience that works so naturally that it feels like part of the system. That’s the standard AVA builds for—elegant design for homeowners, backed by efficiency for pros,” adds Ted Haeger, chief customer officer, AVA.
