Monitor Audio, has announced the launch of its new Creator Series In-Wall Large speakers.

The British audio company states the Creator In-Wall Large models are designed for home cinemas and premium whole-house audio systems, where high-fidelity unobtrusive audio is required.

The In-Wall Large speakers extend the portfolio and performance envelope of Creator Series with three distinctive models, covering Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 levels the company states.

A Summary of the New Monitor Audio Creator Series Products and Technologies

Explaining the technologies it used to enable the speakers to perform at high levels, Monitor Audio describes some of the technologies used in its new Creator Series in-wall loudspeakers:

RDT: Rigid Diaphragm Technology is said to take Monitor Audio’s C-CAM to another level, using a sandwich of ultra thin, low mass skins bonded to a honeycomb Nomex core. The company says these drivers are strong and lightweight that are attributes allow the speakers to product wide dynamics with delicate dexterity.

C-CAM: Ceramic coated Aluminum Magnesium Drivers which that company has been using going back to the 1980s are effectively pistons. Monitor Audio suggests that its C-CAM provides the control and stability needed to maintain clarity and smoothness through the midband, while allowing high SPL reproduction.

Moving on to the new Creator Series models, which are available in the U.S. from its American distribution partner Kevro, the U.K.-based manufacturer outlines its latest architectural loudspeakers:

W1L: A large in-wall speaker featuring C-CAM Drivers, that Monitor Audio says dealers can use for entry-level installations, where product simplicity and solid acoustic performance is required.

WL-BOX: The new WL-BOX is a 3-piece back box that stands 83 inches high by 13 3/4 inches wide and is designed specifically for the new Creator In-Wall large models, providing the output for all three Creator Large In-walls. Kevro and Monitor Audio point out the WL-BOX fits in standard 2-inch x 4-inch spaces.

W2L: A large in-wall speaker featuring Monitor Audio’s Rigid Surface Technology, C-CAM Drivers, is said to offer improved acoustic performance and better power handling.

W3L: The top-of-the-line Creator Large in-wall speaker features the same Driver Technology found in Monitor Audio’s flagship Platinum and Cinergy Series products. The company asserts the speaker’s high SPL (sound pressure level) capabilities and control help the W3L serve dealers and their clients as a speaker for high performance installations where the client wants the best for music and movies.

More Performance Details from Monitor Audio

According to the company smaller drivers have lower mass, allowing them to respond more quickly to audio signals. This results in tighter, more controlled bass and better transient response, enhancing the clarity and precision of low-frequency sounds. Multiple smaller drivers, continues Monitor audio, can also distribute sound more evenly across a room, which improves dispersion and creates a more balanced, consistent listening experience.Elaborating on more of the technologies used in the Creator Series in-wall speakers, Monitor Audio, emphasizes the speaker employs these technologies:

Tier 2 & 3 Mid-Pod Array: Tier 2 and Tier 3 in-wall large models feature a rotatable high frequency/midrange mid-pod array. The mid-pod array can be rotated to allow speakers to be positioned within a vertical or horizontal plain to suit the application at the installation stage.

When the mid-pod is rotated for left/center/right front speaker applications, the solution ensures sound directionality for different system requirements and improved stereo imaging and spatial accuracy.

Patented Quik-Link Terminal: The Quik-Link terminal is said to improve the speed of installation by simplifying the process of wiring up the speaker.

The connector enables speaker cables to be prefitted and terminated before the need to install the physical speaker. So, when the integrator is ready, the Quik-link terminal and the speaker can simply be connected securely via “snap” magnets and a locking latch mechanism.

Reduced Cabinet Vibration & Distortion: The combined output of multiple smaller drivers can match or exceed the output of a single large driver, but with less cone excursion. Reduced cone movement lowers distortion and cabinet resonance, maintaining cleaner sound even at high volumes.

Large Back Box Option: The Creator Series models can be supplied and fitted with a dedicated Back Box. Specifically designed with the largest possible volume to perform at its most optimum, the Large Back Box provides enhanced acoustic performance, consistent and balanced audio, and reduced sound transmission between other rooms and spaces. The Large Back Box provides simplified installation with a defined mounting space, aiding in more accurate speaker positioning and simplifying the speed and installation process for integrators.

Tri-Grip II For Reliable, Strong & Secure Fitment: The new dog-leg mechanism that is engineered to be stronger and more reliable than previous generations. The new mechanism relies on a dual-thread 4mm screw and a brass insert. This combination provides a solid connection between the dog leg and the product.

In addition to the new screw thread, there is a latch system which keeps the dog leg in the home position while the product is being installed or removed from the ceiling, while cushioned pads on the ends of the dog-legs soften the impact against plaster board, for a firmer, more secure grip.
