ISE 2026’s Luxury Immersion Theater Aims to be a ‘Masterclass’ in LED-Based Cinemas

DCI-Grade LED video meets immersive audio in a luxury home theater demo designed around the unique challenges of working with video walls on projects.

ASCENDO Immersive Audio, Barco Residential, StormAudio, PrimeTheater and Technology Integration Partners are coming together in stand 2J500 at ISE 2026 for a live home theater demo combining a DCI-grade LED video wall and immersive audio to create a luxury cinema experience at the show.

Forming the video core of the experience, Barco Residential’s Runar video wall is currently scheduled for DCI certification under the latest HDR standard and features a 0.9mm pixel pitch with native DCI 4K resolution.

Joining Barco, ASCENDO will supply a 14.8.8-channel immersive audio system engineered specifically to be used with LED video walls. In speaking on the demonstration, ASCENDO notes that the system was originally designed around the growing popularity of video walls in custom installs.

Rather than sitting behind the video wall, ASCENDO states that its system will integrate into the surroundings around the screen, which it says helps preserve front-channel localization and cinematic realism when viewing video from an LED.

The speakers used in the demo will include:

  • Six THE8 PRO PASSIVE LED WEDGEs for the front channels,
  • THE10 Passive WEDGE 30 for side channels,
  • THE10 Passive On Wall for overhead channels,
  • THE10 Passive LED Phantom for rear channels,
  • Eight THE28 SUB PRO SQUARED subwoofers for infrasonic bass,
  • And eight corresponding ASCENDO AIA2-10K2 IS infrasonic amplifiers.

Working with the Limitations of Video Walls to Create Immersive Audio

Because the use of a video wall eliminates the possibility of placing audio behind the screen itself, StormAudio will be used to provide audio processing through Elite 32 Analog software. This will allow the system to “shift” the audio to locations where it would normally be had the speakers been placed in a traditional cinema configuration.

Powering the system is StormAudio’s Impulsion 8 amplifier, which will be making its world debut while at ISE 2026 (details on the amplifier have not been released yet, so stay tuned for that).

The theater itself will be constructed by PrimeTheater to ensure ideal performance while in the tradeshow setting.

Takeaways for Integrators

The rising popularity of video walls has been one born out of visual fidelity, as in recent years, this new brand of LED technology (once reserved for commercial uses) has made its way into residential due to lowering costs, stellar contrasts and comparable (if not superior) brightness to that of a projection system.

These displays do carry their own set of challenges, however, when it comes to audio. For one—which is the problem many of the manufacturers involved in this home theater demo seem keen to address—the video wall itself in not acoustically transparent, meaning that traditional techniques of placing speakers behind a projection screen do not work in these types of projects if the cinematic feel is to be preserved.

For integrators exploring video walls as part of their home theater offerings, this live theater demonstration can highlight some of the techniques available in the market currently to circumvent these spatial limitations, allowing integrators to create strong-performing home theaters using microLEDs as the video base.

In speaking on the matter, Helder Martins, Owner of PrimeTheater describes the goal of theater as being less of a technology demonstration and more of a “masterclass in modern residential cinema.”

Per Martins, the presentation is meant to give integrators a better look at what luxury home theaters are capable of, and moreover, what they should be providing to clients as a baseline.

Where to Find the Demo at ISE 2026

The ‘Luxury Immersion Cinema’ demo will be run at Technology Integration Partners’ stand 2J500 during ISE 2026. Those interested will want to RSVP ahead of time in order to lock in their spots for the demo.
