KEF, a global home audio company with six decades of design experience, has launched its second-generation Muo portable Bluetooth speaker.
According to the company, the latest iteration of the product delivers powerful bass, crisp details and richness. KEF points out the Muo incorporates Bluetooth 5.4 aptX Adaptive, along with a 24-hour battery to support long listening sessions. The portable speaker also includes a built-in microphone and the company notes the speaker is IP67-rated through a waterproof and dustproof design that protects the product from the chaos of everyday life.
Designed by Ross Lovegrove, KEF says the Muo draws inspiration from its two-meter-tall Muon HiFi speakers.
“Muo reflects our continued commitment to audio excellence and thoughtful design. As a new generation of our portable speaker, it builds on KEF’s refined acoustic engineering, allowing more people to experience high-fidelity sound at any chosen moment, seamlessly integrating into their daily life. With seven vibrant colour options, Muo doesn’t just deliver great sound, it celebrates personal style and individuality,” says Grace Lo, president and head of global marketing at KEF.
Internally, the company states, the new speaker employs a racetrack driver, along with KEF’s P-Flex Surround Technology, and its Music Integrity Engine (MIE). This proprietary DSP engine KEF emphasizes is tuned for use with the Muo speaker.
Other features the new speaker offers include Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair, as well as the inclusion of a USB-C port. The Muo also provides the ability to pair to allow homeowners to create true stereo sound. In addition, users can control the product with its companion KEF Connect App. The app allows users to adjust speaker settings and perform firmware updates.
The KEF Muo speaker is available in a choice of silver dusk, amber haze, orange moon, blue aura, moss green, cocoa brown and midnight
black finishes for $249.99.
