ADI | Snap One has announced a new line of outdoor speakers from its Episode brand called Episode Extreme Environment Speakers. As the name implies, these speakers have been engineered from the ground up to withstand the harshest outdoor environments.
The new outdoor speaker line was developed with direct input from customers and tested to the highest reliability standards. The all-new Episode Extreme Environment Speakers are said to fill a crucial gap in the integrator’s toolkit, and according to ADI | Snap One, its new marine-grade, architectural audio products delivers high levels of performance in extreme outdoor conditions where standard exterior speakers fall short.
“With this launch, ADI | Snap One empowers customers to expand their audio services into new environments—from patios and pool decks to yacht interiors and hospitality steam rooms,” says Jason Winchester, SVP chief product officer at ADI | Snap One. “As a combined business, we’re dedicated to innovating our products to help better serve our customers and end-users. Therefore, we designed the new Episode Extreme Series speakers to unlock previously unreachable installations where full waterproofing and heat endurance are non-negotiable.”

Episode Extreme Environment Speakers Built to Withstand Hurricanes
ADI | Snap One states the new Episode Extreme Environment Series has undergone rigorous environmental testing, including accelerated salt spray, wind exposure, and high-heat endurance trials to help ensure these products meet the expectations of today’s most demanding commercial and residential audio applications.
The company goes on to boast the Episode Extreme Environment Series outdoor speakers are engineered to thrive where other architectural solutions fail—withstanding temperatures up to 90-degrees C (194 degrees Fahrenheit)—the speakers are also IP67-rated for water intrusion and hurricane force winds. ADI | Snap One point out the speakers utilize a factory-sealed rear enclosure and hydrophobic PCB coating to provide reliable, consistent performance in marine environments, saunas, and heavily exposed outdoor areas like coastal porches and commercial patios.
ADI | Snap One emphasizes that every component used for the Episode Extreme Environment Series outdoor speakers including their rust-proof aluminum grilles, high-grip dogs with rubber screw covers, are engineered to defeat the elements, giving integrators a product they can install with confidence in areas that feel the full impact of Mother Nature.
Latest Outdoor Series Adds Components for Easier Installation
Designed with the professional integrator in mind, the company says the Episode Extreme Environment Series speakers install with ease. The product line fit existing Episode rough-in brackets and cutouts to provide a seamless upgrade path for existing projects. The speakers’ secure clip-in grille design helps to ensure a tight hold that won’t rust, warp, or loosen over time, which ADI | Snap One stresses is critical for extreme temperature fluctuations and wind-prone areas. The company notes the speakers’ rubber screw covers protect key components, improving long-term stability and finish in rugged environments.
ADI | Snap One adds that despite their durable exterior, the Episode Extreme Environment speakers maintain the brand’s audio fidelity. The speakers feature 2-way designs with a plastic basket woofer and a titanium dome tweeter to deliver detailed quality sound whether installed in a sauna, screened porch, or near the sea.
Available globally in all regions, the new Extreme lineup includes 6-inch and 8-inch In-Ceiling Extreme Environment Speakers, as well as 6-inch and 8-inch Replacement Grilles in black and white (rust-proof, weatherproof). This premium addition the global company asserts, complements the existing Core and Signature lines, giving integrators a tiered portfolio to match any environment, application, or client demand.
