Bass plays a vital role of punctuation in movies, and to make sure those low frequencies are impactful, DALI has released the uniquely crafted V-16 F Subwoofer. Designed for the reproduction of bass in high-end home theater and audiophile music systems, the company states that the V-16 F is the most powerful sub it has produced to date.
“The continued success of our home cinema range has driven demand for a flagship subwoofer to meet the needs of movie and music fans that demand the very best in low0end frequency response,” says Michael Munch, CI business development manager, DALI. “We see an increase in adoption of home cinema setups across Europe and we’re pleased to be raising the bar in the high-end home cinema sound sector.”

DALI’s V-16 F Aims to Deliver Ultra-Low Bass with Minimal Distortion
Part of the power the V-16 F provides is delivered through a 1,500-watt Class D amplifier that provides up to 2,500-watts of peak power, however, it’s all the technology under the hood that helps provide low-loss, low-distortion audio that is meant to set the V-16 F apart from others in the category. The V-16 F sports a 16-inch wood equipped with Constand Surface Surround (CSS) technology which helps eliminate distortion when the sub is recreating ultra-low frequencies down to 19Hz. It also comes encased in a 90-liter cabinet with four continuous reflex ports tuned to 18Hz.
All that power does come with a decent bit of heft, however, as the sub weighs a substantial 117 pounds.
Explaining why low frequencies are important for both surround sound and stereo DALI emphasizes that the presence of clean, well-integrated deep bass is key to recreating the sense of “being there” in any type of sound reproduction. Despite its vital role however the company bemoans that accurately reproducing deep bass, including both the power and the finesse, isn’t easy. Reproducing bass it stresses, requires tremendous power, and a sharp focus on low-loss, low-distortion audio engineering in order that it doesn’t interfere with the crucial midrange of the main speakers.
To that end, the company’s work on the V-16 F seems fit to avoid those pitfalls, honing in on a wide-band, low-loss design that minimizes distortion and allows for easy configuration both at the low and high ends of audio system design. The sub’s amplifier features a ‘Room Mode Attenuation’ equalizer, which is meant to help simplify installations when the sub is not being used as part of a complex system by allowing users to find and eliminate a mode on the fly, while the sub itself has features like Room Mode Attenuation and Group Delay.
The U.S. price for the sub has not yet been stated, however, availability is expected sometime in July 2025.
