Value Electronics, an independent Audio/Video retailer in Westchester County, N.Y., recently concluded its annual TV Shootout Evaluation event on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at its showroom in Scarsdale, N.Y.

During the event, Value Electronics brought together the latest flagship TVs side-by-side to compare the products’ picture quality attributes, with a winner crowned for “King of TV” for the 2025 model year. Top performing TVs from the premium manufacturers were selected to compete in the TV Shootout, with an evaluation of SDR (standard dynamic range) and HDR (high dynamic range) voting categories.

This year, the Value Electronics TV Shootout included four displays:

Value Electronics emphasizes that two reference Sony BVM-HX3110 Professional Mastering Monitors were included in the event so each display can be compared next to the reference monitor. All of the participating TVs were professionally calibrated to their best potential to be on an even playing field, and an expert panel of judges reviewed test patterns and real-world content to vote on the elements of picture quality.

The two main categories judged explains Value Electronics were Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) and High Dynamic Range (HDR). In SDR, the Sony XR80M2 (Bravia 8 II) OLED TV was the winner, winning two of four attributes judged and winning the overall average of the SDR voting categories. Samsung’s S95F was the runner up in overall average of SDR categories, closely followed by Panasonic’s Z95B and then LG’s G5.

For the HDR segment, Panasonic’s Z95B won two of the four attributes evaluated, and the overall average. The Samsung S95F also won two of four categories in HDR, and was barely behind the Panasonic by .01, followed by Sony, then LG.

Value Electronics notes that due to its overall average of all voting attributes judged in the event, combining SDR and HDR, and its more decisive win for Best SDR TV, Sony’s K65XR80M2 Bravia II OLED TV was crowned the “King of TV” for 2025. The rest of the field includes Samsung’s S95F OLED TV, and Panasonic’s Z95B OLED TV.
