Grimani Systems, a provider of high-performance audio solutions, has announced the MP-84 MiniPort, a two-way, bi-amplified active ceiling speaker that delivers high levels of sound quality with virtually zero visual intrusion.

In addition to the announcement of the MP-84 MiniPort speaker at CEDIA Expo 2025 in Denver from September 4–6, 2025, company founder Anthony Grimani will also be honored with the CEDIA Lifetime Achievement Award.

“The MP-84 MiniPort rivals high-end floor-standing systems while disappearing into the ceiling,” comments Anthony Grimani, founder of Grimani Systems. “We designed it to give integrators a reliable, precision-calibrated solution and to give customers reference-quality performance without compromise.”

MP-84 MiniPort Speaker Backed by State-of-the-Art Technologies, 24/7 Support

Grimani Systems explains the MP-84 MiniPort pairs an 8-inch woofer with a 2-inch tweeter housed in an aluminum enclosure and it is capable of producing 106dB SPL (sound pressure levels) and a full-range 40Hz–20kHz bandwidth from a discreet flush-mount format. The speaker’s rigid enclosure minimizes resonance and enhances durability, outperforming typical molded plastic designs.

The MP-84 MiniPort speaker also offers integrators interchangeable 4-inch round or square magnetic grilles that blend seamlessly into any décor, ensuring the speaker remains architecturally unobtrusive.

The company also emphasizes that each MP-84 MiniPort is driven by a dedicated 300-watt outboard amplifier, which includes a DSP-controlled digital crossover and room equalization (EQ). The MP-84 architecture is engineered to provide phase-coherent transitions, accurate imaging and optimized tonal balance across diverse spaces.

The MP-84 MiniPort’s wide dispersion technology ensures consistent coverage across large listening areas, eliminating hot spots and dead zones. The result is a uniform, immersive listening experience with audiophile clarity, dynamic headroom and deep bass extension.

Grimani Systems asserts that for integrators, the MP-84 MiniPort delivers operational efficiency and peace of mind with IP-based calibration, diagnostics and 24/7 monitoring. The speaker’s advanced features allow remote fine-tuning, proactive performance assurance and reduced on-site service calls.

The new architectural loudspeaker is tailored for luxury residential and commercial installations, from dedicated theaters and media lounges to whole-home distributed music systems.

Alongside the MP-84’s introduction, Anthony Grimani will be recognized with the CEDIA Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades of innovation, leadership and education in the industry.

Grimani’s impact spans more than 40 years, including work in surround sound at Dolby, creating the Home THX program and founding PMI Engineering and Grimani Systems. Since 1990, he has been a fixture at CEDIA Expo, teaching and mentoring thousands of integrators to raise the bar for system design and performance worldwide.
