The high-performance commercial and residential audio manufacturer L-Acoustics will debut its new Soka loudspeaker and SB6i subwoofer at ISE 2022 on May 10-13 in Barcelona, Spain.
Available through the company’s L-Acoustics Creations brand, the new products can be seen in its booth (#2R600). The French manufacturer notes that it developed the products to meet the growing demand for its residential immersive audio solutions.
L-Acoustics explains the new Soka ultra-shallow collinear source loudspeaker draws from its Syva loudspeaker through its combination of line-source technologies and modern, sleek industrial designs.
The room-friendly Soka and SB6i subwoofer measure just 3.9-inches deep (99 millimeters), and the products are designed to accommodate in-wall or on-wall applications.
Explaining some of the engineering behind the new products, L-Acoustics says the new collinear loudspeaker features nine 3.5-inch midrange drivers, along with a trio of 1-inch high-frequency transducers that help the speaker to deliver 140-degrees of horizontal coverage and 26-degrees of vertical coverage to focus its dispersion on listening areas instead of walls and ceilings.
“Colinear source technology gives Soka all the benefits of line source technology: high output, extended throw, and razor-sharp control,” comments Germain Simon, head of product and technology marketing at L-Acoustics.
“Soka will be prized for its ability to provide astonishing impact and clarity in spaces that require ultimate discretion to allow the design space to shine.”
L-Acoustics says the SB6i utilizes a pair of 6.5-inch neodymium low-frequency drivers, as well as its laminar vent technology, which is used in its concert-grade sound-reinforcement subwoofers.
According to the company, the Soka is capable of producing SPL (sound pressure levels) up to 124dB, when accompanied by the SB6i.
Soka and SB6i Provides More Options to Integrators
L-Acoustics Creations notes that with the launch of these new products, it is providing dealers with a greater array of choices to meet the needs of residential customers.
With the luxury home audio market growing through the acceptance of technologies such as immersive audio and high-resolution audio, L-Acoustics says integrators can address a range of installation scenarios from immersive home theater and high-performance, two-channel stereo audio systems.
L-Acoustics says that homeowners can use the Soka for a variety of activities such as meditation, fitness and wellness activities, to background music for entertaining or meditation purposes.

L-Acoustics Creations adds the Soka’s rear panel hosts the speaker’s mounting points and speaker connections. The speaker can be mounted on a wall in a pan, tilt or pan/tilt orientation, and both the IP55 rated Soka and SB6i are offered in a choice of dark gray and white finishes.
Additionally, the company says, it offers custom colors via the RAL program.
