Josh.ai is expanding its integrations with Apple products by launching Apple TV deep-linking and iOS app notifications, allowing users to simply ask for their favorite media across supported streaming services and get real-time notifications if automations are triggered.

According to Josh.ai, the Apple TV deep-linking integration follows the company’s successful deep integration with Roku, enhancing its natural voice control capabilities to offer feature parity with Apple TV.

The company says this makes Apple TV even more accessible for integrators and homeowners, giving users more control over their Apple TV experience with conversational voice and text commands.

Users can ask the Josh.ai platform to dim the lights, close the shades and consume any media on Apple TV. Josh.ai will turn on the room’s TV, switch inputs to Apple TV through any AV receivers or matrix switchers, and launch the requested media.

The integration effectively extends support across all of Josh.ai’s recommended streaming services, including Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Max, and YouTube. Netflix capability will be coming soon.

Setting this up is simple, as each Apple TV is automatically detected on the network along with all supported streaming services. Apple TVs are configurable as input sources to be routed across applicable video zones, the company says.

Josh.ai is also enabling customers to personalize their own AI-powered notifications, allowing them to set up proactive iOS notifications if devices change state or are left on for too long so they can take immediate action.

For example, the platform will alert iOS users of a potential security issue if a door is left open or if motion is detected by a door station at night. Notifications can also be triggered when thermostats are left running for too long or

if a device is on when it should be off. Notifications can be sent via the Josh App or through voice announcements, the company says.

According to Alex Capecelatro, CEO of Josh.ai, the ability to deep-link with Apple TV and get push notifications from the Josh App are “direct results ” of feedback from customers.

“We have been asked for the capability to control Apple TV with the convenience that Josh.ai is known for and our team is thrilled to bring this feature to every system,” he says.
