ADI | Snap One has rolled out brand new program for integrators looking to become certified in installing the Control4 platform with the Control4 Certified Technician (C4CT) Program.
The initiative, available in both online and in-person formats, is designed to lower barriers for technicians by reducing travel requirements and allowing participants to learn on their own schedules while still gaining practical experience with professional-grade equipment.
C4CT Program Details
The C4CT program officially launched on August 29, 2025, and consists of eight courses and takes approximately 50 hours of training to complete.
That includes lab-based, hands-on exercises across a range of categories such as networking, lighting, security, surveillance, climate control, audio, and video.
The C4CT curriculum also incorporates Control4’s most recent operating system release, X4, ensuring that technicians are trained in the latest capabilities and features of the platform.
Online vs. Offline Options
For the online option, dealerships must purchase a full equipment kit priced at $3,700, with equivalent pricing set for international markets.
The kit will provide all the requisite equipment for technicians to conduct the hands-on portion of the C4CT training without having to physically travel out to Snap locations.
Additional technicians from the same dealership can share access to the kit for an additional $100 per person, creating a scalable model for larger teams.
The in-person portion of the program is hosted at ADI | Snap One’s global education centers and is offered at no cost to attending dealers or technicians.
Over the next few months, Snap says the content of both tracks will be harmonized to provide a consistent training experience regardless of format.
Snap’s Take on the New Initiative
Executives from ADI | Snap One emphasized that the C4CT program directly addresses one of the industry’s persistent challenges: keeping technicians trained and certified without disrupting ongoing projects.
The issue, many lament, is that while online courses can carry a large bulk of education, the ability to conduct hands-on, in-the-field-style training remains critically important in onboarding and continuing education for technicians. At the same time, integrators largely prefer if the education can be completed without it cutting into a technician’s billable project hours.
By offering a hybrid model, Ryan Marsh, SVP and Chief Revenue Officer says the company is “meeting technicians where they are,” according to Ryan Marsh, SVP and Chief Revenue Officer.
Marsh described the C4CT initiative as a natural extension of the company’s “Even Better Together” strategy and a significant investment in helping integrators build expertise while delivering reliable smart home experiences.
