Complementing its newly announced 360VME spatial audio software solution, Sony has announced its new MDR-MV1 Reference Monitor Headphones.
Developed for content creators that includes sound engineers, the newly announced headphones employ an open-back design that it says helps the headphones to provide users with accurate audio reproduction that includes a wide sound stage. As a result of the MDR-MV1 Reference Monitor Headphone’s performance, Sony states the new headphones support the ability to mix and master immersive audio/spatial audio content, including its 360 Reality Audio content, as well as traditional stereo content with high-resolution audio quality levels.
According to Sony, the open-back headphones through their clarity, accuracy and imaging enable object positioning within a 360-degree soundfield, and the MDR-MV1 headphones offer a wide frequency response of 5Hz to 80kHz.
In addition to the headphones’ sonic attributes Sony emphasizes that it has engineered the product to provide comfort for users. The headphones feature breathable ear pads that are fitted to facilitate a comfortable wearing experience over a long duration. The MDR-MV1 Reference Monitor Headphones also come with a detachable cable that incorporates machined-aluminum connectors and a stereo mini-jack adapter for use in professional environments.
