PureEdge Lighting has open submissions for its 2025 Connected with Light Contest. The contest, running from now until June 30, 2025, looks to highlight exemplary lighting design on projects using PureEdge light fixtures. Winners will be announced July 8, 2025, and have the potential to be interviewed as part of a case study in addition to first, second, and third place winners receiving $1000, $500 and a $250 Amazon Gift card, respectively.

Following the announcement of its OLED TV lineup for 2025, Samsung has now announced that its new lineup of TVs will also feature NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility. What this means for clients with gaming rigs is that Samsung’s OLEDs will be able to synchronize the TV’s refresh rate to the GPU’s frame rate. Samsung is also adding the AMD equivalent, FreeSync Premium Pro, to its lineup, allowing the TV to be compatible with gaming on a variety of custom gaming rigs.

Study Finds Americans Overwhelmingly Support Battery Storage Systems

A recent report from Firtetrace International found that most Americans support the implementation of battery systems as a means of energy storage. The survey consulted nearly 4,000 citizens across the US to assess attitudes towards the technology. According to the report, 70% of U.S. citizens favor battery storage systems if it means decreasing electrical bills, and 68% favored them if it meant more reliable power. It also turns out that those showing a lack of support for batteries commonly had misconceptions regarding their efficacy and safety, highlighting opportunities for education and advocacy among proponents for these systems.

Wealthier Americans Start to Feel the Economic Doldrums

The demographics driving consumer economic sentiment have shifted to where richer—and generally more optimistic about the economy—Americans are beginning to lose faith. According to Axios, while lower income groups primarily drove the drop in consumer sentiment for the economy back in 2022, today’s numbers reveal Americans at all income levels are anticipating worse conditions moving forward. A survey by the University of Michigan saw consumer assessment of personal finances drop to its lowest point since 2009 after the housing crisis.
