Taking the benefits of Bluetooth and apps to a new creative level, the Bosch GSB18V-535C 18-volt EC Brushless Compact 1/2-inch hammer drill/driver and GSR18V-535C 18-volt EC Brush Compact Tough 1/2-inch Drill/Driver offer customizable features.
Bosch says that its latest products provide the power that users, including custom integrators, need while providing the latest technological updates to help users maximize the potential of the tools.
“We're always looking to develop not only the most powerful and longest lasting cordless tools, but products that actually make our users' lives easier,” says Theron Sherrod, product manager, Bosch Power Tools.
“By developing a Compact Tough hammer drill/driver and drill/driver that not only deliver on our promise of compact power, Bluetooth connectivity and KickBack Control, we're designing tools for the jobsite of the future.”
Bosch Drills/Drivers Minimize Injury Risk
Bosch says that its optional Connectivity Tool Module can be used to create a link for connections to its Bosch Toolbox app, which is available on the iOS and Android platforms.
The app provides information such as battery charging status, and it provides the ability to change the KickBack Control sensitivity and the time the LED remains on after the drill/drivers' triggers are released.
Explaining the KickBack Control feature, Bosch says the technology utilizes an integrated acceleration sensor that limits tool rotation by detecting sudden movements by shutting the drill/drivers' motors down.

According to Bosch, its KickBack Control feature minimizes the risk of injury if the drill/drivers were to bind up.
The drill/drivers feature maintenance-free EC brushless motors that produce up to 535 inch/pounds of torque. The drill/drivers also provide a choice of two speeds: 0 to 600RPM for high-power jobs, and 0 to 1,900RPM for high-speed drilling applications.
In addition, the products also incorporate precision clutches with 20+1 settings, and build quality features such as all-metal chucks, and ergonomic grip zones for user convenience.
The battery and charger are sold separately.
