The Swedish digital audio company Dirac has announced an expansion of its collaboration with global home audio brands Marantz and Denon to deliver the power of Dirac Live to more listeners. As of today, the new Harman brands boast, the Marantz MODEL M1 and Denon Home Amp have received a software update enabling support for both the Limited and Full versions of Dirac’s room correction solution.
The Marantz MODEL M1 and Denon Home Amp are the first streaming amplifiers from those brands to feature Dirac Live Room Correction, making the pioneering smart acoustics solution more accessible to a wider range of consumers worldwide.
Dirac’s algorithms are designed to minimize the impact of room acoustics on sound performance, delivering a more balanced and accurate soundstage the company asserts that were once exclusive to premium-priced systems.
“With this expanded collaboration with Marantz and Denon, Dirac is advancing its mission to bring audiophile-grade performance from the few to the many,” says Fredric Tapper, vice president and head of business development, Dirac. “Dirac Live has long been trusted by audiophiles and integrators, and now we’re making that same premium smart acoustics solution available to more listeners worldwide through the popular Marantz and Denon streaming amps.”
Dirac Live Room Correction addresses acoustic challenges the company suggests that traditional hardware cannot resolve without significant time, expertise, or cost. Uniquely correcting both magnitude and phase responses, Dirac Live is said to optimisze the entire audio system including the room itself for what Dirac says is a more transparent sound with tighter bass, improved staging, and enhanced clarity.
Dealers can upgrade their clients’ Marantz MODEL M1 with Dirac Live Room Correction Limited Bandwidth, for $159, and Room Correction Full Bandwidth, for $249 through the purchase of a license.
