DoorBird video door stations are receiving a new integration with Homematic IP smart home systems through the Homematic IP app version 3.5.12. This new update for the free Homematic IP app, which is gradually rolling out, allows users to establish a secure, encrypted cloud-to-cloud connection between their DoorBird video door station and their smart home installation.

These integrations will be immediately available to DoorBird video door stations from the D11 and D21 series as well as all customers with a Homematic IP Access Point or Home Control Unit.

According to the company, the integration allows homeowners to connect their DoorBird video door stations with Homematic IP smart home components, adding new options for communication and automations, such as push notifications on their smartphone when a visitor rings the doorbell. From the app, users can also view live video, communicate directly with the visitor and unlock the door, all with a few taps.

Additionally, as partner products, the DoorBird video door station can be freely combined with many components of the Homematic smart home system, including the Homematic IP door lock drive. Dealers can also use the DoorBird deviceโ€™s integrated switching relay, motion detector or the doorbell button and their clientsโ€™ DoorBird devices access module for intelligent automation as required.
