Building upon the original Move portable speaker’s features, the global audio manufacturer Sonos has introduced the all-new Move 2 portable speaker system.
Sonos states that it developed its latest portable loudspeaker to produce a wide stereo image that provides nice levels of bass through a newly developed woofer system. Reinforcing its portable capabilities, Sonos emphasizes the Move 2 now incorporates a battery power system that enables the speaker to play as long as 24 hours on a single charge. The company also notes when the speaker does need to be charged all homeowners need to do is set the speaker on its included charging base or they can use the included USB-PB power supply.
Internally, the speaker system employs a trio of Class D amplifiers to drive a pair of angled tweeters and a single woofer.
Some of the other features the Move 2 offers homeowners include with a weather-resistant IP56 enclosure to allow users to listen to their podcasts, music and other content poolside, or at the beach or tailgating before the big game in a variety of weather conditions.
Another important feature the new portable, indoor/outdoor speaker provides users is Sonos’ proprietary Trueplay equalization (EQ) system. Using the Trueplay EQ system allows homeowners to easily tailor the sound characteristics of the Move 2 to match the environment it is playing in to maximize the sound quality of the speaker regardless of where it is.

According to Sonos, users can also adjust volume with the swipe of a finger across the product’s volume slider, and play, pause or skip a track from the speaker’s simple-to-understand tactile interface.
Additionally, the company points out the Move 2 incorporates Wi-Fi networking and Bluetooth connectivity options, and the speaker is available in a choice of finishes that includes black, white or olive. Moreover, Sonos stresses the portable speaker reduces its idle energy consumption by more than 40%, and the product ships in packaging made from recycled materials.
