Apple TV 4K users can now take Webex calls on the biggest screen in their home thanks to a new Webex app available on the Apple streaming box.
Designed for remote or hybrid workers, the app allows users to easily sign in to Webex, view meetings via a calendar integration, and browse through lists and join meetings by clicking on titles via a Siri Remote.
For a camera and microphone, users can connect their iPhone or iPad to Apple TV 4K and use the built-in audio and video capabilities in the Apple devices.
According to Webex parent company Cisco, Webex ensures crystal-clear audio and video for collaboration on your Apple TV 4K, and once connected, the Webex app will show a preview of the video and microphone status before joining the meeting. With a Siri Remote, users can manage the in-meeting call controls and the microphone and video on the Apple devices.
The Webex app on Apple TV 4K supports 25 simultaneous attendees on the screen, viewing shared meeting content, Apple TV’s Reactions and more.

Cisco first announced plans for the app last fall when Apple released tvOS 17.
The feature works by scanning a QR code on the sign-in screen and logging into the Webex app on the Apple TV 4K. The feature that allows the use of the iPhone or iPad camera is Continuity Camera, which is supported in tvOS17.
The Webex app for Apple TV 4K is similar to a Zoom app that allows users to take Zoom calls on Apple TV 4K and also leverages the camera and microphone on Apple’s mobile devices. It’s also the same functionality that brings Facetime to Apple TV, which was announced and launched last year.
For Zoom users, this also requires a separate Zoom app – Zoom for Home TV on the Apple TV App Store. Users need to install the app and sign in with their Zoom account to start or join meetings.
The app features the ability to start and join Zoom meetings with one click, HD audio and video, a calendar integration, the ability to easily invite people via phone, email or Zoom contacts, an in-meeting chat and breakout rooms.
