McIntosh Laboratory, Inc., has announced the introduction of its CR106 6-Zone Preamplifier/Audio Matrix.
The latest product from the popular luxury audio company was developed to provide homeowners with the ability to have quality listening experiences throughout their homes. McIntosh states the CR106 6-Zone Preamplifier combines the functionality of a preamplifier and audio matrix into a single unit.
According to the N.Y.-based manufacturer, the CR106 6-Zone Preamplifier/Audio Matrix allows homeowners to enjoy different music in different rooms, all while maintaining high-performance audio for immersive listening. The company’s companion Connect app enables seamless control with versatile zoning capabilities and easy connectivity to any source component.
McIntosh also points out the compact CR106 6-Zone Preamplifier/Audio Matrix is compatible with a variety of amplifiers and speakers, and the company emphasizes the preamplifer/matrix product can be easily installed into a standard A/V equipment rack. McIntosh notes the the preamplifier/matrix requires just 2U of rack space, and rack mounting brackets are included.
A Summary of the CR106 6-Zone Preamplifier/Audio Matrix Features
- The product provides provides a choice of unbalanced analog (RCA) or four digital inputs
- Supporting the design of larger systems, integrators can link as many as five CR106 units using the Dante protocol to create 30 zones of stereo audio
- The preamplifier/audio matrix provides Bluetooth connection options and it supports aptX HD and aptX Adaptive for high-resolution audio support.
- McIntosh also points out the CR106 offers two sets of unbalanced outputs, along with dedicated subwoofer outputs, and power control triggers to synchronize power commands with other McIntosh components
McIntosh adds the CR106 6-Zone Preamplifier/Audio Matrix will be available in August 2025 and it carries a retail price of $5,500.
