Adding a pair of home-friendly wireless speakers to its product line, McIntosh has announced its new RS150 and RS250 standalone speaker systems.
McIntosh says that its latest speaker solutions provide homeowners with a choice wireless speaker products that offer a host of built-in streaming platforms that include Spotify Connect, TIDAL connect, as well as Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast, and Bluetooth capabilities.
The RS150 speaker is designed to serve as an “entry level” solution with a “moderately sized” footprint that includes 120 watts of total power. Internally, the RS150 incorporates a 5 1/4-inch woofer that’s driven by 90 watts of amplification. The speaker also features a bass control that allows users to fine tune low frequencies, and the product offers a removable grill to expose its driver array.

McIntosh’s step-up speaker from the RS150 is the RS250, and this standalone speaker incorporates a dedicated phono input, as well as an audio-only HDMI input that works via HDMI’s Audio Return Channel (ARC).
The RS250’s driver array includes a pair of 4-inch x 6-inch woofers, four 2-inch midrange drivers and two 3/4-inch tweeters. Powering the speaker’s driver array is a total of 650 watts of amplification, and to support non-streaming listening applications the RS250 also offers a 3.5mm aux input, and a front-panel 1/4-inch headphone input.
