Sound United LLC, parent company to Denon, Marantz, Polk Audio, Definitive Technology, Classé, and Boston Acoustics, has announced its global director of training, Phil Jones, is hosting a second series of webinars throughout the month of May. The webinars were developed to ensure dealers, integrators, consumers, and AV enthusiasts can continue learning how to best serve their customers and maximize their knowledge of the current AV landscape while sheltering in place.
Each webinar will focus on a different AV topic, with four topics total throughout May. Webinars will take place on Wednesdays at 8 a.m. PST and 11 a.m. PST. See below for details on each webinar and a link to join.
Session Title: Roon Integration
Date: Wednesday, May 6
Times: 8 a.m. PST/11 a.m. PST (please choose 1 session) Session Length: 30 minutes
Session Description: A lot of companies, including Sound United, offer the ability to playback music and streaming services in the home. Roon is a music management and listening solution that can enhance an entire music collection. Roon integrates with hundreds of products including multiple Sound United products including Denon and Marantz. Phil Jones, Director of Global Training at Sound United, will deliver an overview of how to set up and enjoy Roon.
Session Title: Long Distance HDMI Distribution Solutions Date: Wednesday, May 13
Times: 8am PST/11am PST (please choose 1 session) Session Length: 1 hour (60 minutes)
Session Description: With the introduction of HDR as well as 8K and high frame rate, it’s necessary to maintain as much bandwidth as possible when running long distances like from a receiver to a projector. Phil Jones, Director of Global Training at Sound United, will cover the pros and cons of the latest cable solutions and how to test them before you run to improve performance.
Session Title: Configuring and Accessing the Latest Surround Sound Formats Date: Wednesday, May 20

Session Length: 1 hour (60 minutes)
Session Description: Phil Jones, Director of Global Training at Sound United, will provide an overview of the latest immersive surround sound formats. He will cover set up techniques such as speaker placement and tell you where you can find these formats from a variety of streaming sources.
