Sonance has announced four major additions to its James Loudspeaker lineup at CEDIA Expo/CIX 2025, updating several of the brand’s established in-wall, in-cabinet, and hidden subwoofer solutions. The introductions include the Wedge WX Series, the re-engineered QX Quadratech Series, the redesigned PowerPipe X Series, and the BE MKII in-wall theater lineup.
Taken together, the four launches represent a wide-ranging refresh of James Loudspeaker’s core categories. The updates highlight consistent themes across the portfolio, including simplified installation, improved performance, and better alignment with architectural and aesthetic integration requirements.

Wedge WX Series

Sonance
The Wedge WX Series was developed to address integrator requests for better performance, easier installation, and more secure grille retention. The new WX48QT and WX58QT models replace the W42Q/W43Q and W52Q/W53Q, respectively. Both employ James’ Quadratech tweeter technology, CDX crossover system, and a neutral voicing profile. Additional updates include redesigned woofers for improved low-frequency performance, a boundary switch for placement flexibility, stronger magnetic grille clips, and upgraded mounting brackets. The series is expected to ship in late Q4.
QX Quadratech Series
The James QX in-wall line has been refreshed with four Quadratech-based models: QX530QT, QX630QT, QX830QT, and QX-SPL5QT. The latter consolidates two previous models, replacing both the QX-SPL3 and QX-SPL5. With smoother frequency response and more consistent coverage across seating positions, the series aims to reduce the need for corrective EQ during setup. Shipments will begin in late September.
PowerPipe X Series

Sonance
For hidden bass applications, Sonance introduced the PowerPipe X Series, a redesign of a product concept first launched two decades ago. The new line includes eight models across four driver sizes — 8, 10, 12, and 15 inches — with both MDF and marine-rated versions.
Performance specifications range from 29Hz (-3dB) at 88dB sensitivity on the PPX15 to 44Hz at 85dB sensitivity on the compact PPX8. Installers gain additional flexibility through shorter, more maneuverable pipes and a simplified product matrix.
Trim options include a revised toe-kick design, VXQ grille adapters, Small Aperture compatibility, and HVAC-style trims. The new line consolidates multiple older models from both James and Sonance, with shipments scheduled for early 2026.
BE MKII Theater Series
The BE MKII in-wall theater speakers update James’ BE800 line. The new lineup includes four models: BE806 MKII, QX-BE806 MKII, BE808 MKII, and BE812 MKII. Each incorporates enhanced CDX crossover technology and neutral voicing, simplifying calibration while delivering broader on- and off-axis consistency. The BE MKII models replace the previous generation equivalents and will be available beginning in September.
