Quantum’s 4th Gen Video Wall Comes with Native 8K and DCI Certification

While native 8K content remains sparse for the time being, video walls like Quantum’s could stand to capitalize on the format the most as it grows.

In an industry first, Quantum Media Systems has announced the specs for its 4th generation of LED video walls, the XDR4-8K Extreme.

Sporting native 8K resolution, along with a DCI stamp of approval, Quantum Media states the latest iteration of its display series has been custom built for the luxury home.

XDR4-8K Extreme Features

Features such as CinemaScope auto aspect detection, high brightness (up to 2,000 nits) and anti-glare treatment ensure optimal performance in both dedicated home cinema environments and brighter living spaces.

The XDR4 is also purported to have a pixel pitch of 0.7 mm supported by Quantum Media’s proprietary image processing engine, which the company says can produce “lifelike” clarity even at close viewing distances.

The screen itself measures 3.5-inches thick, according to Quantum Media, giving the wall a slim profile meant to blend in with modern home aesthetics.

Other features of the display include a 120 Hz refresh rate, HDMI 2.1 support, multi-window processing and complete P3 color-space support.

As with prior models, Quantum Media is also backing the XDR4 with a full-service integration model, offering white-glove support from design to calibration.

Included within the service are schematic consultations, pre-configuration tailored to integrator control systems, on-site installation logistics (framing, panel placement, cabling), environmental calibration and spare pre-calibrated panels for fast repairs.

The Rise of Technology Design Services

While Quantum Media’s launch is distinctive, the white glove service underscores a broader trend in installation CE Pro picked up on in its recent coverage of the topic.

Integrators continue to value white-glove and concierge service models—especially for ultra-luxury installs—while clients continue to be on the lookout for bigger, more immersive TV models for their entertainment spaces, both underscoring the importance of service as much as performance.

8K’s Open Landscape

8K does remain an underrepresented segment of the entertainment industry now, however. While the hardware has been gradually building up over the years, some have pointed to the lack of native 8K content as being a handicap to mass adoption.

That type of limitation hasn’t stopped enthusiasts in the past, however, as market momentum is currently tilting in favor of products that offer performance and immersion, especially within dedicated media rooms.

Others have also posited that in the realm of 8K media, video walls stand to benefit the most from the format, being able to handle the data required for producing 8K images more effectively than traditional TVs on the market.

Where to View the XDR4-8K Extreme in Person

For integrators looking to see Quantum Media System’s XDR4-8K LED Wall in person, the company will be exhibiting at CEDIA Expo 2025 through appointment-only showings in Meeting Room 207.

While at the show, Quantum Media will be showcasing both 4K and 8K content on the display, so attendees will be able to get a look at how it performs there.
