On-Q, the structured wiring and connectivity brand from Legrand | AV, has announced availability of the DA8800WH, an 8-port PoE+ unmanaged network switch designed for installation inside On-Q plastic and metal structured wiring enclosures.
As residential projects continue to add IP cameras, wireless access points, streaming devices, and whole-home control systems, network infrastructure is increasingly expected to deliver higher bandwidth and greater power density within compact spaces. The DA8800WH is intended to address those requirements with an enclosure-ready form factor that combines data and power distribution in a single device, according to Legrand.
Power and Bandwidth for Connected Homes
The DA8800WH includes eight Gigabit Ethernet ports and provides up to 120 watts of total PoE+ power. This capacity allows multiple powered devices, such as security cameras and Wi-Fi access points, to be supported directly from the structured wiring enclosure. By combining PoE+ and Gigabit throughput, the switch is positioned to reduce the need for separate power injectors and additional hardware, the company says.
Enclosure-Optimized Installation
Unlike general-purpose network switches, the DA8800WH is designed specifically for compatibility with On-Q enclosures. Legrand says the enclosure-friendly design is intended to simplify mounting and cable management while maintaining a clean, organized appearance. Front-facing power and status LEDs provide visibility for basic monitoring and troubleshooting, and the unmanaged, plug-and-play design eliminates the need for configuration.
The switch supports Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3) standards to reduce power consumption during periods of low network activity. Each unit ships with an external power adapter and mounting hardware and is backed by a five-year limited warranty.
Expanding the On-Q Switch Lineup
The DA8800WH expands On-Q’s unmanaged switch portfolio, which includes the DA8000WH and DA8400WH, by adding higher PoE+ capacity for installations that require increased power density. The lineup is positioned to provide scalable network distribution options for residential and light commercial environments.
