CEDIA, the Association for Smart Home Professionals, has announced that Emmy-winning television host and producer, Georgia Tech engineer, HGTV designer, and third-generation craftsman, Chip Wade will deliver the 2025 CEDIA Expo keynote.
The smart home industry trade group says that in “Beyond the Blueprint: Where Innovation Meets Intention,” Wade will explore how to create purposeful spaces that drive success for builders, designers, and integrators, balance trends with timeless design, and foster collaboration for greater impact.
Drawing on real-world insight and examples, he’ll share strategies to blend aesthetics, functionality, and innovation, while underscoring the importance of adaptability, teamwork, and meaningful decision-making.
“There is something really special that can happen when the right mix of skill, professionalism and work ethic mix with a real passion for doing something exciting and worthwhile in a build project,” says Chip Wade. “This is the exact intersection where I try to park myself on all my projects.”
As an Emmy Award-winning host, designer, and executive producer, Chip Wade has become known for his direction and problem-solving. He’s lent his expertise to the Atlanta team of HGTV’s Designed to Sell, HGTV’s Elbow Room, Curb Appeal: The Block, Ellen’s Design Challenge, HGTV’s Design Star, Wise Buys, Super Great Rooms, Hotel Impossible, Oprah, Rachael Ray, The Weather Channel, Fox News, NBC, and CNN. Wade is also the owner and lead designer of Wade Works Creative, offering services in video and digital productions, residential and commercial design, architecture, and building “one-of-a-kind amazing stuff.”
“Chip Wade brings a rare combination of technical expertise, creative vision, and genuine passion for design that resonates with allied trades and homeowners alike,” adds Daryl Friedman, global president and CEO, CEDIA.
“As integrators, designers, architects, and more convene at CEDIA Expo, Chip’s collaborative spirit sets a shining example of how working together across disciplines can create extraordinary experiences and push the boundaries of smart home design.”
The 2025 CEDIA Expo keynote will take place Thursday, Sept. 4 at 8 a.m. in Mile High Ballroom 2.
