After decades of OEM manufacturing for brands like JBL, Russound, Audiobahn, KLH, Carver, Radio Shack and more, Astrosound is launching its own loudspeaker brand called Heritage Acoustics. Its very first products are the Custom Series and Signature Series in-wall and in-ceiling products in 6.5-inch and 8-inch models.
Heritage Acoustics will also introduce a number of complementary products to help integrators, including rough-in kits, volume controls, and speaker selectors. According to the company, future plans will involve building upon the two initial loudspeaker lines.
“We will have two series in-Ceiling/in-wall speakers in the beginning: the Custom Series and Signature Series. [They are] featured enriched models at very affordable prices,” explains Don Rowland, director of Astrosound.
“We’re introducing four 6.5-inch models in each of the two series, a single 8-inch model, along with the basic essential items to make a typical installation complete, rough-in kits, volume controls, speaker selectors, speaker distribution hubs and audio cables.
“The product will be available by the first week of November [2018] We will have additional items in the near future as we grow our brand.”
Engineered for residential applications, the products emphasize Astrosound's many years of product development and manufacturing.
Heritage Acoustics Designed to Balance Value and Performance
According to the global company, its products carry a limited express warranty for as long as the homeowner owns its products.
The Custom Series will offer a choice of four models: the CS-600, the CS-610, the CS-620, and the dual-tweeter CS-610T in-ceiling products.

Following the rollout of the Custom Series, Heritage Acoustics will introduce its Signature Series of products during the first quarter of 2019.
Here is a summary of each product's features:
- CS-600: 6.5-inch poly cone with an 1/2-inch pivoting PEI tweeter. The speaker is 88dB sensitive and its frequency response is 50Hz to 20kHz.
- CS-610: 6.5-inch poly cone with an 3/4-inch pivoting PEI tweeter. The speaker is 88dB sensitive and its frequency response is 50Hz to 20kHz.
- CS-620: 6.5-inch IMPP ribbed cone with a 1-inch pivoting soft-dome tweeter. The speaker is 90dB sensitive and its rated frequency response is 50Hz to 20kHz.
- CS-610T incorporates a pair of 3/4-inch tweeters along with a single woofer. The speaker is 90dB sensitive and its rated frequency response is 40Hz to 20kHz.
