Bang & Olufsen (B&O) continues to expand its brand presence in the United States, with three new stores opening in California in the near future.

The stores located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Palo Alto are set to open in November 2025, and the Danish company says there are more stores planned in the coming years.

“California is a pivotal market for Bang & Olufsen and a vital space for us as a brand. It sits at the heart of the entertainment industry and is home to a vibrant design community,” says Kristian Tear, CEO, Bang & Olufsen. “As a pioneer in sound and design, it’s essential for us to be present in a place that continually inspires and influences cultural expression.”

The first new California store to open its doors will be in San Francisco’s Union Square. With a footprint of 5,100 square feet over two floors, the Union Square location will officially be the largest Bang & Olufsen store in the world. This will be followed by the opening of West Hollywood (4,000 square feet) and then the Palo Alto store in the Stanford Shopping Center (3,200 square feet).

The stores will showcase the B&O portfolio of luxury speakers and televisions through vignettes evocative of customers’ own homes. Clients will be invited to have hands-on experiences with the products and to spend time testing and enjoying Bang & Olufsen’s speakers and televisions.

“The vision for our new stores is inspired by the golden era of record shops—spaces that blended culture and commerce,” says Jean Maraine-Jin, West Coast market director B&O. “We want guests to feel at home, whether they’re discovering new music or enjoying timeless favourites through our world-class sound systems.”

B&O emphasizes the stores have been conceptualized to be cultural hubs for their respective neighborhoods with weekly programming to include live performances from local musical talent, vinyl listening nights, film screenings, talk series, and more opportunities for community engagement. Plans for the new stores include listening zones, coffee bars, customization stations, and an artist-in-residence program. The West Hollywood store will include a VIP media suite for clients who require an extra level of privacy while spending time with the products.
