Few audio companies can match the levels of success achieved by the French manufacturer L-Acoustics. For years the world’s top touring artists have used the company’s sound reinforcement systems to play in some of the world’s most famous venues.
Proving its prowess in the professional audio community, L-Acoustics is bringing its engineering capabilities, which includes a staff of more than 125 engineers to the consumer market via its L-Acoustics Creations division.
At the upcoming CEDIA Expo 2022 show in Dallas on Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 in booth #27107, the high-performance audio company will showcase several products that include its new Soka colinear source technology loudspeaker and its companion SB6i subwoofer.
According to the company, the design of the Soka was inspired by its Syva professional loudspeaker.
L-Acoustics Creations explains the Soka combines a line-source technology design with its latest industrial design. Internally, the new speaker incorporates nine 3.5-inch midrange drivers and a trio of 1-inch high-frequency transducers.
Through its acoustical design the Soka is able to deliver a 140-degrees of horizontal dispersion, along with 26-degrees of vertical dispersion. L-Acoustics Creations states the speaker is able to produce SPLs (sound pressure levels) as high as 124dB over a wide bandwidth that extends down to 70Hz.
The company also points out the speaker is able to play even louder—130dB—down to 100Hz, and when augmented by the SB6i, the system can play down to 33Hz.

Taking a closer look at the SB6i subwoofer, L-Acoustics Creations says that its latest subwoofer, employs a pair of 6.5-inch neodymium low-frequency drivers and the company’s proprietary Laminar vent technology.
L-Acoustics Creations states the 4-ohm subwoofer is capable of playing down as low as 29Hz at SPL levels as high as 114dB.

The combination of the IP55-rated Soka loudspeaker and SB6i subwoofer can be used by integrators to address a range of applications that include home audio and commercial installations such as hospitality environments.
L-Acoustics Creations supports the products integration with standard brown and white finishes, and a custom RAL paint color option to help the speakers blend into a variety of indoor and outdoor environments. Â
