Shade Innovations (SI announced several major performance upgrades to its flagship KAOS (Kick Ass Outdoor Shades) platform on Tuesday. The enhancements include SI’s new high-power, quiet outdoor motor, a weather-resistant IP5 remote, and the introduction of the Onyx Glide Rail System.

At the core of the upgrade is SI’s new 50 Nm Smart Quiet Motor, which, according to the company, delivers increased torque over prior motors for greater turning power under demanding outdoor conditions with adjustable obstacle detection for user safety and system protection.

Alongside the new motor, the Onyx Glide Rail System represents a fully re-engineered rail platform purpose-matched to KAOS. According to SI, the platform uses a proprietary, self-lubricating material infused with UV-hardening pigments.

Rounding out the upgrade is a new IP5-rated weather-resistant remote.

Released Tuesday by USAI Lighting, the In One-Mini is a compact recessed fixture designed for “install-from-below” applications with an all-in-one platform that combines downlighting, adjustable and wall-washing capabilities in a compact form.

The fixture reportedly delivers over 2,000 lumens through a 3-inch aperture with a profile under 4 inches tall thanks to a two-part heat-sink. The beam spread can be made as narrow as 10 degrees and as wide as 65 degrees with the fixture itself being tiltable up to 40 degrees.

According to USAI, the In-One Mini comes in two trim options and is designed to work with ceilings up to 2 inches thick and a minimal plenum height as small as 5 1/8 inches. The Bevel trim delivers a 3-inch presence in round or square applications while the Pinhole trim goes the more discreet route with a 2-inch rounded aperture.

LED options include Classic White, Dim-to-Warm and Dim-to-Warm+.

HYPERSUB expanded its Frontier line earlier this week with the F-24 DUO, a force-canceling, dual-opposed 24-inch infinite-baffle subwoofer module engineered to deliver cinema-scale infrasonic low frequencies, while disappearing into risers, baffle walls or other structural cavities.

The F-24 DUO’s dual 24-inch, long-throw neodymium drivers operate in a force-canceling manifold meant to minimizes cabinet reaction forces while maximizing acoustic output. The manifold itself fits a standard 20-inch x 30-inch HVAC grille for placement behind fabric walls or within seating risers.

When powered by a dedicated HYPERSUB 224D/C rack amplifier, the company states the F-24 DUO extends system capability for large and very large rooms with integrations into HYPERSUB F-15 and F-21 arrays for reference-grade, RP-22-aligned performance. The F-24 DUO is also engineered to work in concert with Trinnov Waveforming and Dirac ART workflows for coherent arrays and consistent seat-to-seat results.

The DUO is available now to integrators through HYPERSUB’s website, though readers should note that final SPL/extension numbers for F-24 DUO are estimated in the current sell sheet and marked TBC pending validation and any information represented here reflects those values verbatim to maintain accuracy.

Leviton on Wednesday announced a new integration of the My Leviton app and Sonos audio systems, which debuted at the 2026 NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS).

With this integration, Leviton’s Decora Smart Wi-Fi Scene Controller Switch can integrate with a Sonos audio system to turn the former into a lighting control solution with simple audio control options. The integration also opens access for paired audio and lighting scenes through the My Leviton app.

According to Leviton, the integrated Decora switch can be used to play/pause, skip tracks and adjust volume on a Sonos system. The bottom button functions as a typical light switch, while the top three are customizable for audio or scene control.

Sonos introduced two new speakers on Wednesday: the portable Sonos Play and the streamlined Sonos Era 100 SL. According to Sonos, the new models are designed to provide flexible entry points into its audio platform while supporting expansion into larger connected audio and home theater deployments.

Sonos Play is positioned as a portable speaker supporting Wi-Fi connectivity for multiroom synchronization and Bluetooth operation intended for use both inside and outside the home.

The Era 100 SL, meanwhile, provides a streamlined alternative within the Sonos lineup with a microphone-free design aimed at users seeking simplified operation or privacy-focused deployments. The speaker is intended to function as a standalone listening solution while also supporting stereo pairing, multiroom audio grouping and integration into surround sound or distributed audio configurations over time.

Preorders opened March 10 with general availability scheduled for March 31 through Sonos and select retail partners.
