Sol-Lux is making a return to CEDIA Expo after debuting at the show last year. With a selection of exterior shading solutions, the company’s portfolio taps into an underrepresented segment in an otherwise roaring category. Paired with the channel heads being quite familiar with the business of integrators, and the company holds a very salient value proposition for anyone interested.
CE Pro spoke with Steve Brous, National Sales Manager for Sol-Lux ahead of the show to get an idea of what it has planned for its second outing, what the turnout was like for them during last year’s show and how the company is handling trends like AI with respect to being able to develop compelling, feature-rich products for integrators and their clients.
CE Pro: Can you explain what products and other activities Sol-Lux has planned for CEDIA Expo 2025?
Brous: At CEDIA 2025, Sol-Lux will showcase our full line of outdoor retractable shading solutions—including the Mirage and Freedom patio awnings, the EOS autonomous window awning, and our MiraSol drop screens available in both zip-tension and cable wire guide configurations. All of our solutions are proudly made in the USA and backed by more than 50 years of engineering and manufacturing expertise.
Our patio awnings and drop screens are powered by Somfy, giving dealers the ability to integrate outdoor shading into third-party control systems using the Somfy TaHoma Hub or Bond Bridge Pro. EOS, on the other hand, is a completely autonomous solution—operating on its own through integrated sun, wind, and temperature sensors. It’s the first of its kind, and a real portfolio differentiator for integrators.
We’re also teaming up with Bond on Thursday, September 4, from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., to host a live demonstration showing how easily our shading solutions integrate with the Bond Bridge Pro. It’s a great opportunity for integrators to see the technology in action and ask questions. And of course, we invite everyone to stop by Booth #3225 to experience our products firsthand—and enjoy a little shade.
Finally, we’re looking forward to connecting with integrators and partners throughout the show to gather valuable feedback that will help shape our 2026 innovations.
CE Pro: You guys were at CEDIA Expo 2024 as well. How did last year’s show work out for you?
Brous: Last year was our debut at CEDIA, and it was a tremendous success. As a new manufacturer to the channel, it gave us the opportunity to introduce our outdoor shading solutions and have meaningful conversations with integrators about how these products fit into their business. Many integrators are already embracing the growth of outdoor technology, and partnering with a company that has over 50 years of awning expertise made them feel confident in adding Sol-Lux to their portfolio.
Dealer reception was outstanding. Integrators immediately saw the benefits—both for their clients and for their bottom line. From CEDIA 2024, we expanded our dealer program, partnered with three manufacturer reps in key markets, and continued to grow our dealer network nationwide.
It’s also worth noting that Sol-Lux is a subsidiary of Carefree of Colorado, a Marmon Holdings, Berkshire Hathaway company, and the leader in RV awning manufacturing. That pedigree, combined with our focus on innovation in the residential and commercial space, has been a strong selling point for dealers.
CE Pro: What are some of the benefits you see in integrators opting for exterior window awnings over traditional shades?
Brous: Exterior awnings like EOS give integrators something unique that truly sets them apart. While interior shades are excellent at controlling light and privacy, EOS stops heat and glare before it ever enters the home—reducing solar gain, blocking harmful UV rays, and preserving views, all while adding curb appeal.
From a design standpoint, we offer over 180 RAL cassette colors and more than 80 Sunbrella canopy fabrics, allowing for a customized look on windows up to 120 inches wide. From an installation perspective, EOS is simple: a single aluminum bracket with a French cleat system makes mounting quick and easy, so integrators can move on to the next project faster.
And then there’s the intelligence—EOS operates autonomously based on its integrated sun, wind, and temperature sensors. Homeowners don’t have to lift a finger. Dealers often compare it to the “A.I. of window shades.” For clients who want more control, the Sol-Lux app provides manual override, scheduling, vacation mode, sensitivity adjustments, and even a service/demo mode for integrators.
CE Pro: How has Sol-Lux been able to leverage AI with regards to enhancing the functionality of its products?
Brous: EOS is essentially an A.I.-driven product—it reacts to real-time weather conditions without requiring homeowner input. Its sensors continuously monitor the environment and extend or retract automatically to provide the best protection at the right time.
For our patio awnings and drop screens, which are powered by Somfy, the AI advantage comes through integration. By pairing with home automation platforms via the Somfy TaHoma Hub or Bond Bridge Pro, our solutions can become part of larger, intelligent ecosystems—responding to scenes, schedules, and automations across the smart home.
CE Pro: One of your newer products is the Eos awning. Could would go into a little bit more detail into how this product in particular changes how integrators can approach outdoor shading solutions?
Brous: EOS opens up an entirely new category for integrators. Many are already selling motorized interior shades, but EOS brings that same value—and in many ways, greater benefits—to the exterior of the home.
Our most successful dealers are bundling EOS with interior shades on the same window. During the day, EOS blocks heat and glare while preserving views; at night, interior shades provide privacy. This not only elevates the homeowner experience, but it also doubles the dealer’s revenue opportunity on a single window.
Beyond that, EOS is fast to install, requires little service, and can be sold in multiples on a single project. It’s a great entry point for integrators looking to grow in the shading category, and once they see how easy it is to position and install, it becomes a very natural part of their offering.
CE Pro: With these being a rather unique set of products for the channel, what are some of the support systems you have in place to help integrators sell these products?
Brous: We know integrators are looking for more than just a product—they want a partner. That’s why Sol-Lux provides strong dealer margins, dedicated sales, marketing, and technical support, and products built in the USA with a reliable four-week lead time.
We’re also backed by Carefree of Colorado’s decades of manufacturing expertise, so integrators can trust in the quality and longevity of every solution we deliver. Just as important, we continually listen to dealer feedback and use it to drive future innovation.
At the end of the day, we want to help integrators win more outdoor projects, grow their margins, and differentiate their portfolios. That’s what Sol-Lux is here for.
