GoldenEar ForceField 30 and 40 Subwoofers

Known for its high value product line, GoldenEar is bolstering its selection of subwoofers through the introduction of its new ForceField 30 and 40 products.

The company says that its new subwoofers draw on design influences from its BRX products with curved top panels. The new ForceField 30 and 40 subwoofers’ cabinets employ thicker walls to help prevent the smearing of bass transient information, and the subwoofers’ enclosures also include perforated metal grilles that are said to provide sonic transparency and improved airflow.

Internally, GoldenEar states the new subwoofers utilize Analog Devices DSPs, as well as MOSFET output stages that are said to provide greater power transfer efficiency. The ForceField 30 and 40 subwoofers’ also use ultra-long throw drivers that include large high-gauss magnet assemblies. Augmenting the subwoofers’ drivers are GoldenEar’s Quadratic Planar Infrasonic Radiators that are aligned in a downward firing position.

GoldenEar says the ForceField 30 incorporates an 8-inch long-throw woofer and a 9 inch x 11-inch passive radiator. A 1,000-watt digital amplifier drives the unit’s woofer.

The ForceField 40 incorporates a 10-inch woofer and an 11-inch x 13-inch passive radiator. The 10-inch woofer is powered by a 1,200-watt digital amplifier.

In addition, both models include LFE line-level inputs, left/right line-level inputs, and subwoofer level and low-pass filter controls.
