SVS is a manufacturer that is well established in home audio enthusiast circles. Now the company is bringing its popular subwoofer technologies into the custom installation market through the launch of its 3000 In-Wall Subwoofer.
The new in-wall subwoofer can be used for new construction and existing homes, and the company boasts that its new architectural subwoofer can match the performance levels of traditional in-room subwoofers.
“The 3000 In-Wall subwoofer has been in development for quite some time from SVS because our engineers were never content with anything less than reference performance for this important category,” states Gary Yacoubian, president, SVS.
“An architectural subwoofer that delivers truly breathtaking output with astonishing depth and accuracy, plus sophisticated tuning and control is a first. No more compromises for clients who want reference quality bass without taking up floorspace. Plus, it’s easy to install in any room and provides unmatched versatility.”

According to the company, its new in-wall subwoofer generates high levels of sound pressure levels (SPLs) through a pair of custom-designed, high-excursion 9-inch woofers that reside in a sealed aluminum and MDF cabinet that fits into a home’s 16-inch stud bay. The woofers utilize oversized motors, custom driver baskets and lightweight aluminum cones.
SVS emphasizes that it developed a version of its conservatively rated 800-watt RMS, 2,500-watt peak power amplifier that employs a MOSFET high-current output design that provides Class D efficiency capabilities to power the 3000 In-Wall Subwoofer. Providing the brain behind the amplifier’s muscle the company notes is a 50MHz Analog Devices DSP (digital signal processing) processor. The 2U-high external amplifier can be used by integrators in a dual-subwoofer array in which the amplifier delivers 400-watts each respectively to a pair of subwoofers to enable integrators to meet the low-frequency requirements of larger rooms or bass-hungry homeowners.
Some of the other dealer conveniences the 3000 In-Wall Subwoofer provides include the ability to setup and tune the unit from the amplifier’s front-panel interface or from the company’s SVS Subwoofer Control and DSP app. The app is available on the Apple iOS and Android platforms, and integrators can setup custom presets, and control parameters such as volume control, crossover settings, as well as the subwoofer’s three-band, parametric EQ (equalization), and polarity. The subwoofer’s bi-directional feedback provides instantaneous feedback via the app and the amp’s front panel interface.
SVS adds the 3000 In-Wall Subwoofer’s enclosure, which mounts via dog legs clamps or screw-in direct mounting options, features rigid, aircraft-grade 2.5mm panels in the front and rear that wrap around an MDF frame. The cabinet includes extensive bracing to keep the enclosure as inert and vibration-free as possible, and its magnetic front grille can be painted to match the color of any room environment.
